I wanted to make my daughter some stud earrings so I got some blank studs to put my own materials on them. They were very hard to hold and sand so I got these to hold them while making the earrings. They work perfectly for what I am using them for. They come very oiled to prevent rusting or sticking I assume. I did accidentally superglue one closed but it was easy to clean up.

Good quality, works good for the job of holding / using wire drill bits.

The collets have terrible burrs on them from manufacturing. And even after fixing that, the concentricity is horrendous. I put a 1/32" bit in the smallest collet, and it does 1/16" circles when you turn the motor on. Anything intended for drilling needs to have good concentricity!

This pin-vice was poorly machined and would not run true in my drill press. The smallest collet closed asymmetrically making it impossible to center a drill bit. Basically worthless. Find something better. No stars to this seller!

Collets are poorly made causing the drill bits not to run true, not even close. Spend the extra money on a properly engineered pin chuck from a bone fide machine supplier.

these vices can be hand held or inserted in a drill (although for small drill bits used in an electric drill will likely lead to instant breakage)!!.
