I wanted to extend the drain plug out from the bottom of the engine to 1/4 NPT piping so it would not run down the block of the engine. The adapter works as expected.

I'm returning this as defective, because three different test fittings will not seal against this adapter's 1/4" threads; the tapped hole is oversize, the fittings bottom out without friction on the threads, and no amount of sealant will cure bad machining like this.
