Do they sound great? Yes! Warm and clear. A sound well worth enjoying.... But .. Prepare to tune all the time. Tune when you pull it out? Of course. Play for 10 minutes, tune again. Put it down for 20 minutes and pick it back up.. tune again. That's after 3 weeks on the violin. I guess it's better than gut strings from 50 years ago, but there is definitely a reason we went to synthetics. I liked the sound better than my Eva Pirazzi Gold's, but I got tired of the constant tuning. Ok, I admit it, I've been spoiled by synthetics... But they really did sound great...

I've spent 25 years searching for the best strings that make my violin sound its most authentic and brilliant self. The strings stay in tune and have both depth and brightness. The improved my playing. Just expensive.

Like all gut, takes about a week for full break in. Change one or two at a time. Rich, warm sound with good projection. Warmer than Evah Pirazzi or other synthetics and more versatile than olive.

These are the best strings I've ever used. I'm a tried and true Eudoxa user, and these will be in my rotation from now on. I play 3-7 hours a day, and they finally set within a few weeks. Yes, u have to tune when it sits over night, but during play they hold up now (took a few weeks). They do not have the power of Evah Golds, but evah gold die quick, and are just more harsh on my violin. These strings give me all I need, but I've grown up on gut. I can seem to be in perfect pitch always with these, yet always feel I'm missing something with steel. I play with ease, do rums and position changes with ease. Beautiful deep tone. Depends on the violin, depends on the player, but if you love gut, you'll love these.

- took forever to break in- have to tune them every 10 minutes even after one month- super sensitive to humidity and temparature- sound doesn't project well on my violinBasically the awful tuning stability is really annoying. The first week after I put them on was really unplayable, the strings kept stretching every second literally. They will drop almost 2 whole step overnight. Now they have been on my violin for a month and I still have to tune it every 10 minutes, and it's really hard for me to practice. Especially G string, it will still drop half step overnight now. E string is alright, stays almost in tune now. (Since it's not gut core) They are also very sensitive to temperature and humidity that cause the strings to not stay in tune. The sound is good when I'm playing, but when I'm an audience hearing my violin being played, the sound doesn't project well and has no warmness. The strings might be good on other violins, but the tuning stability is really a serious issue on these strings. I know that gut strings break in slower ( I have experience on playing plain gut strings on baroque instrument before) , but this is not acceptable.
