We love the woods and the ocean, and no matter which we travel to this monocular does the trick on allowing us to enjoy seeing the distant animals, birds or fish. We can also focus in on flowers and trees of interest too! Sometimes we get lucky and see butterflies! The portable case makes it easy and safe to travel with. The construction of this monocular is fantastic, clear and sound. This is a great family hobby that is affordable to share together like we do. So much fun!

I got this to use as a spotting scope for target shooting. I'm extremely satisfied with the optics and the ability to see where on target my shots are landing. The build quality feels very nice and solid. The rubberized coating makes it easy to grip and looks great. The tripod is all right; it's a little bit cheap and wobbly, but it looks like the tripod mount thread might be a standard size so you could upgrade it. The phone holder was a disappointment, though. It's very cheap and awkward to use, like it was an afterthought to an otherwise good quality product.A tip for using it with an iPhone with multiple cameras: the built-in Apple Camera app automatically switches between lenses, making it very difficult to use the Camera app with this mount. I suggest finding a third-party app that lets you manually select which lens to use.

Such a disappointing product for what they're charging. There should be zero fogginess to the image, but some around the edge and most at the top, make for a view that cannot be enjoyed. The focus is also lacking that last bit of sharpness needed to bring "presence" to what you're viewing. This scope is about what I'd expect from a sub $30 unit, not one selling for 4 times that price. Huge disappointment - I'm sorry I wasted my time ordering it!

I ordered this PISEZ 12X power magnification monocular to take on my regular “hunting” trips in the 150 acres of woodlands behind our house. I hunt with a camera and a long telephoto lens. I used to take a binocular on these treks, but the weight of the optic and its case when added to the camera backpack, day trip supplies, and “Just In Case” tools was making for some noisy walks in the quiet woods. Aside from weight, binoculars need two-hands to remain steady while in use, but this single tube instrument is easily held steady using just one hand. The 12-power capture lens is mated to a 56mm objective lens giving me a 12x56 HD monocular with acceptable resolution and clarity out to 1000 yards at the full 12 power. But the SWEET SPOT for this precision optic is 50 to 500 yards. In that range the view is bright, resolution is sharp, and the view is less affected by distant thermal haze. This monocular design uses a modern BAK-4 resolving prism and multi-coated lenses to provide clear resolutions. These lens coatings dramatically reduce loss of light from refraction and ensure increased light transmission through the tube to the prism. These lenses also provide dazzlingly accurate color renditions making them perfect for precise identifications while bird watching. All the ranging and focusing is accomplished with a single rotating knob on the top of the tube where your finger naturally falls as you hold the device to your eye.The monocular has built-in low-light-level night vision resolution capability, and this was a pleasant surprise. The gathering and processing of limited ambient light allows me to continue my observations even after the sun begins to set.On new moon nights the low-light resolution is capable of differentiating our regular raccoon and possum visitors to the feeding stations around the property. Our “one of a kind” Albino Skunk who is bright white with a black stripe is so reflective in the optic that he creates halos! The compact design and rubber-armored grip with hand strap make it easy to transport and use, even on uneven trails. And the IPX7 rated Nitrogen-filled tube design makes the monocular waterproof, fog-proof, dustproof and shockproof regardless of the weather conditions you encounter on your time in the forest. This PISEZ monocular is well-equipped and arrives in an excellent hard-sided and zippered transport case. Included accessories include lens caps, a nice table-top tripod with a sturdy ball head that would be useful at a firing range as a spotting scope. Also included is an attachment to mate your smartphone camera to the monocular to capture easily transmitted images. Rounding out the accessories are a shoulder strap; a microfiber cloth that is ALWAYS welcome around any optical device and an easy-to-read instruction insert with excellent illustrations for new users of precision optical instruments. Whether you are hiking, on a photo safari, attending a concert, or just exploring your backyard from your deck, this monocular is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to get “up close and personal” with their favorite singer or the wildlife that lives just outside the back door. Thanks, AMAZON!FIVE STARS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Mark in North Carolina

I had ordered this scope for my wife to use on a trip we took to Alaska. This scope offered us the ability to take pictures with our iPhones and it also allowed us to both view some wildlife together, rather than passing it back and forth. The power of the scope is good as well and it allowed us to see the wild life really up close. This was a great value and it offered us exactly what we were looking for.

QUICK TAKE: I'm a casual birdwatcher and love to see the sights when out camping, etc. This monocular has been great over the past few months on our expeditions for taking in some birds and other wildlife that are at a distance. I've been very impressed with the coated lenses and the quality of the vision through the lens versus another monocular that I've used previously. The dfiference that BAK-4 makes is pretty substantial (much larger than I thought it would). The monocular is also a nice size that easy to take with you in a lighter pack and it won't add much to your overally weight and the 12X lens is a great range. While not as powerful as some (much more expensive) monoculars, 12X allows for some really nice viewing and ranging. This one has been used while hiking and packing and it's got wet a few times with no issues whatsoever. The rubberized grip makes it very easy to hold in hand and maintain steady viewing as well.Overall very happy with this monocular and it's part of my regular camping / packing kit now!The only minor gripe I have (not removing a star) is that getting this set up with a phone camera takes a bit of work. You'll need to find the right app settings to make sure you capture good shots. I primarily use this for viewing (real-time) and scoping though, so photography is a secondary item for me.THE GOOD STUFF:- 12X power is great for medium range viewing- Great grip- Water-resistant and durable- Lightweight and easy to pack and use- Coated lenses filter light VERY well - huge step up from others that dont have BAK-4 techTHE NOT SO GOOD STUFF:- Takes a bit of trial and error to get working for photography (with apps)
