The book says not to use any cooking spray's on the plates because they're non stick. WRONG, if you dont brush the plates your pizzelles will stick. other than that it works well. if you leave the dough on for 90 seconds like the book says they will be burnt. I left mine on for 10 seconds and they were perfect.

I purchased this pizzelle baker because my dad has the same one, and we've been using it to make our family Christmas cookies since the 90s. He finally passed the recipe on to me, and I was so excited to find this pizzelle baker available since it's identical to the one we've been using for over 20 Christmases. However, the product I received (while it was a Salton pizzelle baker) had a completely different pattern than the one pictured. The grooves on the pattern I received are a different depth (much shallower), meaning the cookies come out way too thin and the dough spreads too easily out of the press.I was so disappointed that I couldn't send my dad pictures of our family cookies, because the ones from this pizzelle baker were a disaster.

I received the machine and the machine looked new. The box looked beat up, and the manual for the machine was not in the box. The manual that came with the machine was for a George Forman grill. I thought this product was over-priced and the presentation was absolutely terrible. I am very unhappy with this particular experience.

It is about Salton Model WM8PZL Pizzelle Baker, Automatic. It rated 120V 60Hz 700W. It has a few design problems. First, on the Box It says it has LED indicator and ready light, Red and Green; however, it does not have LED indicators, just old neon lamp indicators, so power on Red lits OK, but Ready Light which has green lens, due to neon light at back it is rather orange color, when the heater plate goes hot the thermostat cuts off the power and the green indicator goes off, and it is not Ready Indicator, rather, it is baker is on heating indicator. Secondly, this model WM8PZL has a detrimental flaw that it does not bake even all around, Inner lower part bakes faster than upper part, so that the color of baked pizzelle Cookies are uneven all around. To get even baking all around you have to turn around a few times, it takes about 60 seconds to make one pair of Pizzelle .I think it is due to too thin baking plate for heating elements. I also have old model WM-6 Salton Pizzelle Maker. which does not have this uneven baking problem but cookie is too thin and breaks too easy to handle lt.. Thirdly, All Pizzelle bakers do not have thickness control which is very useful fuction if it can provide. I rate this particular model WM8PZL two star, but old WM-6 model three Star.
