I like how simple the trellis is to put together, similar to putting together kids building toys, no tools needed. Once fully assembled, the self watering function of the pot works well, and most of the plants one would grow in this are crops that will be harvested, with short lifespans, so there will be no legitimate problems with the plant roots infiltrating the reservoir and clogging the watering port. The pot also holds together so far when put under full soil load, no signs of buckling or other plastic fatigue.I don't like how easy it is, during assembly of the pot, to end up with damaged or downright broken parts. I managed to put it together without serious harm to the pot, but the latched tongue and groove style jointing used in the pot is put together with pressure, and the thickness of the plastic is too thin to assemble without risking damage to the joints. In the future, an updated version could have thicker walls but in particular, sturdier joints in the pot, and a instruction manual in addition to the pictorial one printed on the box (I'm glad I didn't this time, but I usually collapse and recycle the box ASAP of whatever I get).Overall, it is a good small space friendly choice for apartments or small homes.

This is a nice self-contained grow pot with trellis. The container is about 10" square, which is the perfect size for a tomato or pepper plant. Assembly is fairly easy and shouldn't be an issue for anyone. If you live in an apartment or have limited garden space, some of these containers would be a very good option for you to consider. It's very convenient to have the trellis as part of the container design and it looks very neat and organized. If you only have a balcony or patio, this is a very workable gardening option.

I recently got into gardening and, unfortunately, do not have outdoor space, so I'm trying to utilize whatever I can. I've been wanting to try some vining plants, like beans and tomatoes. I got this to try out for my tomato plant, which was booming. This came with all that was advertised. I was able to put everything together, and the back of the box gave images of how it should be put together. The poles have an indicator to help you know which end goes up and which goes down, the instruction said the square where you connect the pole to it does too. However, I tried looking at all three squares and thought I was blind, but I did not see any "UP" word at all. Fortunately, the pole has a specific end that can only connect to the square, so you just need to match it and figure out which side of the square is up. The directions also did not include how to connect the small plastic water cover to prevent splashing and direct the water down to the reservoir. But it was intuitive to connect the plastic after some tinkering. The base connected easily.I do like the water reservoir so that I can make sure the plant stays hydrated on very hot days. However, I do worry as I can't see it and kinda have to poke a finger in the small opening to gauge the water level. The material was plastic so it was very lightweight, great for me to move my sprout outdoors to help harden it. However, this is a con for me too, as eventually, I worry about the plant growing larger and the weight of wet soil along with the water reservoir will cause this to be heavier. Wish it had wheels like other towers. I think when the vine starts to climb, I would have found a more fixed area to keep the tower at.

I tried grow bags this spring and just wasn't a fan. This planter is great and I can't wait to use it next spring. It is easy to assemble and the perfect size for one tomato plant. It's also not an eyesore to have on my patio. The supports prevent cage seems durable enough to do the job.

However, it seems very durable so far. Easy to water.

I ordered this garden tower planter to grow herbs for cooking and to experiment with growing them on RV trips. The pot was easy to assemble using the instructions provided on the box. The planter is designed to snap together so no tools are required. It has a couple of pretty cool features that I have not seen in small planters before. First, there is a table that fits into the bottom of the planter that soil sits on top of. This creates a reservoir below the dirt that holds water to keep the plants well hydrated. The second is a port built into the side of the planter that allows you to add water directly to the reservoir. The planter box is roughly 10"x10"x10". This will be suitable for a single plant in most cases. It will also make it manageable for use in the RV. The planter comes with a stand structure made of plastic bars that snap together and clip into the top of the planter box. With this assembled, the planter is 43" tall. This structure will be useful for plants that require staking (tomatoes, beans, peas, cucumbers, etc.). I have reservations about the strength of this structure because it is not rigid and deforms easily. I suspect it will not be able to support the weight of larger vegetables such as big tomato varieties or full-sized cucumbers. For now, I will be growing basil, oregano, and thyme in it on our front porch (and from the campsite when we are on the road). I believe it will be ideal for that. If my opinion changes, I will update this review.

I ordered this for a tomato plant that is thriving in a Kratky Growing setup. The planter was easy to assemble and it's compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. I put the plant (in a container of water) in the assembled base and secured it to the trellis. I don't plan to move it. I knew this is how I would use the planter and it is definitely made well for that application and I may get a few more as it's a great "instant trellis" system. I do like that the trellis pieces stay together!
