Nowhere did it say in this that an additional amplifier module would be needed for this. I took it to the 911 Call Center to use and I could barely hear anything. When I plugged it into my office phone here in my home office, it worked fine. Only after returning it did I find that there is an amp unit you can get that will amplify the audio, with volume adjustments 'n such that would have been nice to know.

I do medical scheduling from home, and am on the phone all day. I don't like the over the head and/or over the ear headsets, so I've tried several of this style. This one is the best I've found. It is a bit more expensive and does requre you to purchase the correct connector, but worth it in my opinion. I especially like that I can attach it to my computer glasses which makes it even easier to use.

I am a 911 dispatcher, so a good quality headset is a must. This set had great quality, and is sensitive enough I had to turn the base gain down two notches from where I use it for over the ear sets. Mic is excellent as well.The problem is, after only 6 months, the speaker has begun having issues, becoming extremely quiet even at highest volumes, adding a muffled quality now and then like someone is talking through water, etc. Fiddling with the earpiece or connecting hose usually fixes it, but the issue is becoming more frequent, which is a safety issue for emergency units in the field. If dispatch can't hear them, they're at risk.This is not a one-off problem either, because a coworker of mine has this exact headset, and had exactly the same issue. This tells me it's likely a quality control/reliability issue. That could be why this headset is no longer produced or "officially" available.So now I'm on the hunt for another in-ear quick connect headset with better reliability.

This headset is more comfortable for me than the over the ear ones. I can use it in dispatch for a full shift without any issues. Sound is clear and crisp receiving and transmitting.

Way better then I was expecting. I needed something comfy for 12hr shifts as a dispatcher. This came with a clip for my glasses so it stays in place perfectly. Sounds quality in my ear is perfect. And the voice tube sound quality is great. Super light weight. It does make the back of my ear slightly sore from resting on my ear but I'm betting that will go away after I'm more used to it.

I've been using this style of headset for the better part of a decade, but not for dispatch - for general phone use. I spend a ton of time on conference calls and this headset works amazingly well. The key with these headsets is you really need to use the Versatip eartip that comes with this and NOT the fitted tips you get with older models (the ones with different sizes). Those eartips are really not comfortable but the versatip is awesome!You can use this with an iphone just fine! You need to pick up a Plantronics 38541-02 adapter and if you have a headphone-less iphone you'll need your mini-to-lightning adapter. This adapter also works with the headphone jack on Apple laptops (MPB/etc.). I use it for Zoom calls all the time. The button either disconnects your call (when connected to the iphone) or launches the media player when not in a call. Plantronics also makes a 3-conductor adapter (43038-01) which should work for Android but I haven't tried it.It's really a shame these are becoming extinct because they're a really good product without a good replacement in the modern age.
