Use PlaySmart Dice in fun and original games we have developed, existing board games and RPGs, and help introduce them into your local schools with games that are great in classroom settings. Why? traditional dice are surprisingly inefficient at reinforcing math fact fluency (what we used to recognize as mastery of basic arithmetic and times tables), and kids hate traditional learning tools such as flashcards. And when we game, we should try to maximize the impacts of fun, tactile play on long-term memory. PlaySmart Dice remove the “easy” number operations and emphasize harder to learn number combinations to ensure students become fluent on math operations that are critical to higher levels of achievement.

The PlaySmart Dice set includes two “Mean 11” dice, twelve-sided dice with numbers 3 through 8 occurring twice, as well as two “Mean 13” dice with the numbers 4 through 9 occurring twice. The dice are big – 25mm – and fun to roll.

These dice also teach a natural sense of probability distribution and can be adapted to more advanced games involving the hardest to learn multiplication combinations as our child gamers grow.

I had been tutoring a young boy in math this summer. We had tried many things, including other games, none of which inspired him. But this kit seemed to appeal to him and he cannot wait for us to do some of the ideas from the booklet. We have also made up many other ways to use them. A must-have for tutors and substitute teachers.

Outstanding, unique, and high quality dice game with quantity four (4) 12-sided (dodecahedron) dice. Two dice are numbered 4-9 and two numbered 3-8. I am a math tutor and high school volunteer classroom assistant. I use PlaySmart Dice with my students grades 6-12.The dice duplicate the numbers so that there is six (6) numbers: 4-9 & six (6) numbers: 3-8 on each die ...2 numbers each i.e. 2 4's, 2 5's, 2 6's...2 9's and 2 3's, 2 4's, 2 5's...2 8's ; making the "probability" of getting a particular number is 2/12 or 1/6 (similar to a regular 6-sided cube dice: hexahedron). I use the dice to teach probability distribution for advanced high school students. The PlaySmart Dice are ideal to reinforce arithmetic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division... making "math serious FUN" for all ages elementary students to college students.I strongly recommend PlaySmart Dice as a wonderful, enjoyable family game. For the space this takes up! The memories are so vast. My daughter loves to play this game and she learned so much from it!! We have such a great time with it we can take it anywhere

This set of dice includes a number of different games to play that reinforce math facts. In just a short time playing I have already seen my kids growing in their confidence and getting better at their math facts. This has been especially great for one of my kids who doesn’t like doing math in the traditional sense, but finds these games fun to play and forgets about having to do math. :-)

These math dice had very good ideas in the bag that get students started immediately. Instead of drill and kill, the games are challenging and fun. Students hardly know they are practicing computational skills. Every classroom should have some of these--and parents of students learning math as well. I am a teacher in Kansas City. This makes learning fun for all...the excitement of "winning" can't be underestimated.
