I’ve always been a bit intimidated by fire extinguishers. They’re usually bulky and heavy and I always worry that I’d fumble with it and not be able to get it to work properly in case of an actual fire emergency. Also, just under a year ago, I was burning a small brush pile in our backyard. It was very dry and although it wasn’t very windy that day, I had a small pile of cardboard that I was planning to burn sitting a few feet away from the burn pit. I had heard of flames/fire jumping before, but has never experienced it until that day. The cardboard caught fire and started spreading quickly towards our outdoor building. In a panic I ran around to the building to move items to keep them from catching fire. That’s when I bumped into a plastic trash can that was so hot it was melting. It stuck to my leg. Needless to say it was painful, but what sticks with me more than the pain is the fact that it was such an incredibly close call. Luckily I was able to get the fire under control, but had it reached the building, there’s a good chance the house would have been next. That’s why I now take fire safety much more seriously than I had in the past, and I jumped at the chance to order this fire extinguisher. Up until I got this one, we only had an older, super heavy one, and to be totally honest, I didn’t even think of grabbing it that day because I have no idea how to use it. I was anxious to get this one because it looks like a lighter weight, simplified version of the old one. One thing I learned from that day when the small fire that I thought was contained to our fire pit jumped and came so close to burning out of control is how truly important fire safety is, and that I needed to take it more seriously. Also, when it comes to a fire extinguisher, ease of use and speed are two very important factors. I like that this one has the patented handle design, tough metal nozzle and a high-precision pressure garage. It’s also easy to use... Just pull the pin, aim at the direction of the fire, pull the lever and spray to extinguish flames easily and quickly. In my opinion, this is a fire extinguisher that will work great and be easy to use, and I feel confident that I would be able to use it correctly in the event of a fire. You can’t really put a price on safety, but I do have to say that this fire extinguisher is well worth every penny. I plan to order two more so that we can keep one upstairs, one downstairs and one in the outdoor building. Luckily I have not had to use the new one yet, but I know that I have a safety plan in place in case I ever have to deal with a fire, and that helps me sleep better at night. Having a good fire extinguisher is an absolute must, and I highly recommend this one for its safety features and ease of operation.

All I can say is WOW! These are the best well packaged & presented fire extinguishes I have ever seen! Definitely well made & solid construction. Just keep in mind they was water based, meaning they must be stored in an area that is above freezing! We'll see how well these will hold up, at some point I do need to test them. One thing I'm a little bit confused with here is that it says to use these water based extinguishers on grease fires. That doesn't seem like a brilliant idea. Water and burning oil don't mix. Outside of that I don't see any problem with these, especially for the price.They do stand nicely on their own. Both of mine were charged to the maximum level that they should be. In other words they were all the way up to the end of the green on the gauge. That's about where they should be, so no problems there. After about a month, they are still just as charged as they ever were. In other words, I don't see any issue with trusting that they will last four years if properly stored.The build quality seems actually quite nice for the price. A lot of fire extinguishers like this cost this much for one, and you get 2 here. With that in mind, I would call this a decent value.There's really no issue here, aside from the fact that I'm a little confused about why you would be using a water based extinguisher on a grease fire.

Thankfully I've not had to use this extinguisher, so I can't speak to its performance during a fire. What I can tell you is that this is a great size to keep in the kitchen area for safety reasons. It's important to keep an extinguisher readily available so that you can zap a fire just as it starts. One of my neighbors had a kitchen fire and had a fire extinguisher, but it was located in the back of a closet. By the time she found the extinguisher, it was too late and her entire kitchen was destroyed.While it's obviously a fire extinguisher, the matte black finish blends better into the surrounding decor if you opt to leave it out. To use, simply pull the pin, aim and squeeze the trigger. Always focus the extinguisher at the base of the flame. The unit is lightweight and easy to handle. Bear in mind that this is a one-time use extinguisher... it's not designed for refill and has a shelf-life of 4 years. I recommend shaking it every few months to keep the contents from settling. At the current price, this is a very good value for peace of mind.Based upon what I've learned after receiving the device, I would be apt to order more in the future.
