I put these in a chandelier that I got from Amazon that is hanging in my dining room. I actually had to take 3 of them back out as it was too bright. But, my light only hangs about 6' off the ground. If you put these in a light fixture that is higher than that, it might be ok. If you put them in lighted candles to put in your windows it will give off plenty of light that you wouldn't need much else to light up the room.
