Why is this aluminum? It dissolved from a normal degreaser and was junk after a single use.

Buyer beware the body is aluminum contrary to appearance, not steel. But maybe advantageous depending on what you intend to spray. Careful not to use any liquids that react with aluminum (non ferrous) or it may be discolored, etc. Works well enough for what it is. Spraying mineral spirits for degreasing, here. Great air tool This is not too messy as it uses a very small quantity of solvent/cleaner in the air-stream. I utilize it with diesel fuel as solvent to clean chainsaws inside the clutch cover, chain & bar. Leaves a very light oily residue which prevents rust and does not remove paint. Areas that should not be left oily are touched up with small amount of brake cleaner. I highly recommend it for this purpose. Appears durable; well made. Cons: No instructions included for the adjustment for the ratio of solvent to air mix. Adjustment is at the nozzle; the tighter in the nozzle is turned, the less the product in the reservoir is metered into the air stream. Does not come with the connector to air supply. You will need a female 1/4" NPT fitting to attach to the male threads of the gun. Made from non-ferrous metals (aluminum & aluminum alloy); do not use solvents/chemicals that react to aluminum/zinc/magnesium.
