About this item

  • A minimum of 10 Giant Orange Roly Poly babies (Also called Potato Bugs, Isopods, or Pill Bugs)
  • Delivering live, healthy rolies is our highest priority. If your temperatures for the next five day forecast are below 20 or over 95 degrees, Do Not Order. We cannot wait to exceed your expectations, but is devastating when Roly Polies perish in extreme temperatures.
  • Meant to be used with a Pocket Pet Habitat and Roly Poly Farm available on Amazon
  • Oranges can grow to about 5/8 inch
  • These will come packaged like an over obsessed mom packaged her sons ideas and hard work to arrive safe and sound.

Giant Orange Rolies bred by Pocket Pets adds a splash of color to all farms, habitats, and vivariums. This species do not curl into a ball when scared, they play dead. Females will typically give birth to 1-2 clutches of 20-30 babies from early spring to mid fall. Giant Orange can grow to over 5/8” long and live 3-5 years. They become sexually mature and start producing babies around 2-4 months old. Yours will be approximately 2-4 months old when shipped. Giant Orange prefer 60-80% humidity and temperatures between 70-80 degrees F but can tolerate temperatures as low as 40 degrees. They will eat just about anything organic including most vegetables, grains, and fish food. Do not overfeed or the uneaten food will attract fruit flys. Just like all isopods/rolies, Orange get along well with other species of isopods/rolies. Shipping is a flat $10 per order no matter how many isopods or species ordered. While pictures typically represent the adult version of our pets, most items for sale are shipped as immature stages of the available species. Photos of outstanding adult specimens are typically used, not representing the actual specimen available for sale. Giant Oranges have a hard shell.

The pocket pets arrived safe and sound and in excellent packaging; very impressive. I put them in my terrarium and they got right to work, exploring and doing their clean up routine. I highly recommend this seller. He goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are satisfied.

We only lost one, the rest are all fine and doing great in their new home! All the babies I was able find, there were alot, are in a different terrarium, growing and waiting to join the rest of the adults. (They're small enough to be eaten by my house spider I also take care of.) The adults give a nice pop of orange in all the green. I don't have kids but I get to enjoy these fantastic creatures with my nephew who loves them as much as I do. Thank you!

I keep spiders and my kids wanted something crawly of their own that is more kid friendly, so I decided to get these little dudes for them. They were so carefully packaged and I can tell the seller really cares about their product. Everyone was alive and active when we received them and I got more than I ordered.Since these will be kept as pets they have their very own enclosure set up just for them and their specific needs and they seem to dig it. They're really fun to watch! The kids also really learned a lot by researching/preparing for these guys and setting up their habitat before they arrived. Cute, educational and just all around a fun project to do with (or without) kids. Also, their enclosure looks really nice and makes good decor! Win!*we used the Lecani large glass plant propagation station with LED plant light and wooden lid 7.8" x 10.5". Works perfectly for live plants and these isopods!

We have 15 species in our mixed colony and we have ordered at least 8 or 9 of our various species from this supplier. We have been very pleased every single time. The price is fair and they have all arrived alive and healthy every time. (Seriously, I have not found a single dead isopod, which is more than any reasonable person would expect for multiple deliveries of live insects at various times of year and temperature. I don’t know what their secret is, but it works!) Isopods have been a wonderful low maintenance hobby for our mildly autistic sons (ages 3 and 6). A mixed colony offers so many opportunities to discuss and learn about responsibility, social interaction, kindness and caring for others. We also use it as a way to discuss differences in outer appearance even though the isopods are basically all the same on the inside. We talk about how even though they look different and have different personalities, they all get along in their cooperative community. (They really do have different personalities- some species are very assertive while others are very shy.) The background story and personal experience that the seller shared on the site was inspirational and ultimately that was what convinced me to try isopods as a hobby for my sons. As it turns out, I have just as much fun with it as they do!

So theyre obviously so cute but mine arrived with the top off and the isopods in the styrofoam hiding for their lives. I think it was mostly the fault of the delivery driver but 4 were still alive miraculously. Shipping was very quick however. I set them up in a little mason jar terrarium with some seeds that'll hopefully grow C: so cute
