The Polar WearLink transmitter combines superior Polar technology with a new fabric design. The electrodes, which pick up the heart's signals, are engineered right into the fabric strap. The result is a superior fit for any individual body shape, providing revolutionary comfort and full freedom of movement. The transmitter's textile strap is removable and machine washable. Its clip-on mechanism ensures quick and easy wear, and the belt is easy to put on and take off.

Polar's coded technology ensures that the user picks up only their heart signal, and not the signal of another heart rate monitor nearby. With millions of HRMs in use today, there's a good chance that someone working out next to you may also have one on. Interference from any other HRM is now eliminated and an accurate signal is ensured.

About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

I have been looking for a reasonable priced non-BLE heart monitor (to be compatible with my Nexus 7 2012 edition) and I am glad I've picked this one. All working perfectly fine, it has a replaceable lithium battery that it is said to work for 150h... I still have lots to go :)

It was difficult to find a heart rate monitor to go with my samsung galaxy nexus android and runtastic pro as their are many conflicting posts online but this works perfectly, paired right away after i put it on and used the default pairing code 0000.Would recommend to anyone that has runtastic pro app on Android.Love it.

PRACTICALLY PERFECTRight out of the box, it pairs quickly and easily with my HTC Rezound as well as Nexus 7. The only undocumented thing that I learned is that, the unit needs to be snapped into the strap AND properly wetted before it's turned on. The snapping part I understand - the unit does not have an on/off switch. Unsnapping effectively turns off the unit. Smart. But at first I didn't have the strap wetted wide enough and the unit was simply not discoverable. A little annoying but go figure. Ease of use: Perfect in technology and in comfort.MY RANT ON CARDIO TRAINERNow allow me to rant about Cardio Trainer a bit: I have been using it for a couple of years. But since I mostly run on treadmill, I usually do a manual log entry. I got this Polar to be more mind of my target zone but am sorely disappointed at the app and the over all experience. While the Polar unit pairs and reads my heart rate accurately as far as I can tell, Cardio Trainer itself has a very boring heart rate histogram. I wanted it to show my real-time heart rate against my personalized zones so I can adjust my effort accordingly. Without it, I find the value of using a heart rate monitor questionable. If someone could tell me how they are using a heart rate monitor and what app they use, that would be totally appreciated. As of now, I may return this Polar just because the actual value of having a monitor is not substantiated.EDIT (5 DAYS LATER)I've dumpped Cardio Trainer and switched over to iCardio. This app is perfect for real-time monitor against workout zones. It works perfectly with the Polar. Well worth the $6. It's true that everything is more fun with technology, exercise included.FINAL ASSESSMENTI would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that when it's not properly fitted it's not even turned on. The developer may consider it a feature to conserve battery but sometimes it's more annoying than having mis-readings and adjusting while you are working out. I give it a solid 4.5 stars.

Well, this was disappointing to say the least. Worked great for 3 days, and on the 4th day.. nothing. Phone no longer saw it, tried to restart the phone, reset the battery, tonight i went out and bought new batteries and nothing. When i try to attach to it, my phone can't find it.I tried my sons Iphone, it didn't see the polar either. So i got just over 3 hours of use on it before it died. Now i get to deal with returning it.. fun..

I have been using Polar HRMs for several years. I was always upset when the battery in the transmitter ran down and all I could do was buy a new unit. Finally Polar has come out with a transmitter that has a replaceable battery. Another nice feature is that the transmitter can be separated from the belt so the belt can be cleaned and there is no chance that the transmitter will pick up false signals when it is off the belt. Some reviews have said the belt is more comfortable, but I found it to be no more or less comfortable than the older model. The transmitter is coded but it works fine with an uncoded receiver. There is a small plastic clip that connects the two ends of the belt. It looks fragile, so be very careful when handling it. Unlike the older model that was all plastic, the part of the belt that comes in contact with your skin is fabric. So I would not use any kind of gel to improve the conductivity. I have found that just a little bit of moisture, either tap water or saliva, is sufficient to start picking up a signal. Once you start the workout the perspiration will keep it going. Watch the sizing. I have a size 42 chest and the large size is almost completely expanded. If you make it too tight you will feel the belt and it may be uncomfortable. If you are replacing an older style belt, first go to the Polar home page and find the link to the compatibility chart to make sure this unit works with your receiver. There is a nice table that covers older and current models.

I had a hard time finding confirmation that this Polar monitor, being coded, would work with Precor treadmills, but it seemed that it would. Now that I have purchased it, I can verify that this works just fine on several Precor models at my health club (specifically, I have tested it on the 954i and the 956i). You walk up to the treadmill, and it immediately starts tracking your heartrate. I have not tested it with "interference" as others at the club don't seem to use HR monitors, but it really is great to have the instant and constant feedback during workouts.I have no complaints about the requirements on this monitor - wetting down the electrodes and rinsing the strap after usage is just not that big a deal. I'm a pretty large person and the XX-L size promise of the description is real, and the monitor is quite easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. The monitor itself snaps into the strap firmly, but it releases easily enough with one hand tugging on the monitor.I am rating it 5 stars because, well, it just works; it's comfortable to wear, and I really don't have anything negative to say about its design or operation.
