Great OEM replacement speakers for 5" aquatronics 50Watt speakers that were originally equipped on our 2005 Sweetwater 200ES pontoon boat. It took us awhile to track down a direct replacement but these sound great on a 200watt (50watt x 4) head unit. Great job!

easy install good price decent quality lasted quite awhile considering most marine items only last a year or 2. Still working but outside plastic finally crumbled (boat stored outside for 5 years)

I have a pair of poly-planar speakers on my pontoon boat that have been working great for 12 yrs and are still working great. My other speakers that came with the boat fell apart so I ordered these poly planar speakers to replace the bad ones. The speaker cut out for my old speakers was 5 inches. The cut out size for these should be 4 3/4. These worked in the 5 inch hole but you have to have them centered perfect or one of the screws will miss the mounting surface and go in the cut out. After install they sound good and look good but again I am not trying add more ripples in the water. I just want to listen to music at a low volume and fish.

We needed the speakers to replace two speakers that were missing covers. I admit I only needed them for the cosmetic value to make the ceiling look better. So I do not know how they sound as I had not hooked them up. Installation is easy and it comes with all the brackets to make an easy recessed install into drywall and wood ceilings. You may want to check the required Ohm on your receiver. I remember from the old days that many had a 4 ohm speaker connection. This one is 8 Ohm. You cannot mix and match. Make sure your sound source requires the 8 Ohm speakers. That way you prevent expensive equipment failure.

The speakers sounded fine, and were the same size as the ones we were replacing. But the big circular speaker holes already cut in our ceiling were slightly too big and the four screws in these speakers are more inboard than the ones we were replacing, so we still don't have them permanently mounted, 'cause you can't screw them into thin air. Once mounted, they will cover the big holes completely though.Not really the speakers fault, and there was quite a bit of included hardware and screws with the speakers -just nothing that works. We've developed yet another plan to install them this weekend. Hope we'll finally get them installed.Take down your old speakers before you order and really check the measurements of everything. The screws are only missing the ceiling by about .2 of an inch (the old speaker holes are probably less than 1/2" diameter bigger than they should be, but that's enough to be a stopper for getting them installed easily.

The speakers sound fine. The package states "UV stabilized for protection against damage from sunlight", but that protection is marginal. The speakers were mounted in the cockpit of a boat in Southern California that gets a lot of sun. After five years the plastic protective mesh broke down, crumpled to the touch. The speakers are warranted for two years. Am I mad? No. Disappointed? Yes, I expected a longer life from them, ergo my luke warm 3 star rating. I had no choice but to buy the same model again so the mounting holes line up on the replacements.

I just ordered a new pair of these speakers to install on my boat. I only did that because the first set I bought 14 years ago are finally wearing out. The speakers themselves actually still work, and I'm only replacing them because the grills have eventually been deteriorated by the sun. I have gotten far more than what I consider a reasonable lifespan out of them. These speakers have spent 24 hours a day every day for 14 years outside in sun, wind, rain, hail, and snow, have then been subjected to suntan lotion, drink spills, winch handles hitting them, and people accidentally kicking them, and temperature variations over time from -5F to 112F. The fact that they still play and sound great is amazing, and I can't wait to install the new pair.
