Don't let anyone tell you differently this is a project that takes patience and time. But, it's worth every minute I spent installing it. I made easy work of it by adding a pop & lock tailgate lock at the same time (I installed it first). Then I tapped into the tailgate pop & lock wiring I ran for that. The most time consuming part is the lock assembly and fishing the wire through my tailgate boot at the bottom to the access area (Nissan Frontier). It's incredible to be able to lock all my doors, topper lock and tailgate at the touch of a button. I no longer worry if I forgot to check both those locks at night.

the handle supplied is round and not oblong like the snugtop, leer and are lock/latches. with that being said. the 2 outside screws are left and right of the handle are exposed. and if you unscrew the 2 screws left and right of the handle(from the outside) you can remove the whole locking mechanism. if the screws were inside the cab it would be a different story. but anyone can break into your cab with a phillips screw driver. better of buying a prolock and retrofiting the actuator on the prolock. that's what i did.

Overall this product is great. It looks good and works flawlessly. The instructions seems vague at times and perhaps overly complicated. Also, I've learned now that you may not necessarily need to switch your handle to use the locking mechanism. It seems very likely you can add the lock to your existing handle.Routing the wiring so that the glass can open without getting caught and still have enough length took a while to figure out.I was able to tap into the power locking tailgate very easily, so all the wiring stayed close to the rear of the truck and so long as my power tailgate lock works, so does the camper shell lock.

This works like a charm! I used it to replace the key lock on my Century truck cap. Took some time to wire in, but what doesn’t??Having the lock tie into the power door locks on the truck is priceless, I should have done this years ago!I would buy again in a heartbeat!

There are basically no other options to DIY add keyless to your truck canopy, so it's better than not having it. The big downside is you have to replace the entire locking mechanism and it's decent but not great quality. The directions are OK, not great and overall I think it could be much more refined for the what they charge. It's still much cheaper than having the dealer do it.

The less than neutral review is for Pop and Lock's lack of documentations and description on what it fits. I should have taken my broken glass apart first, but I had assumed that an 1.125" center hole is a standard on caps with a single handle. It is NOT! The A.R.E. Z series caps have 3 holes, measuring 1.0", 1.5", and 1.5". This unit will not work without some sort of filler panel with a reducer hole in the middle. I bet it can be made, and I would purchase this panel if it was available. If I had a 3D printer, I would try and design one to sell. (Note, I just purchased the cap with a broken window, and had a new window put on)

What I did not like is that Pop N Lock will not warranty the product if bought through Amazon. Their reason is that they do not know how old the item is. The item arrived in a smashed box which I also did not like but the product seemed undamaged and all pieces accounted for. The directions took some reasonable interpretation because it is made for a variety of truck caps and covers. I had to do a few things to my 2008 Snugtop Super Sport to get the hardware to fit. I moved the original T handle bezel to the inside. I ground down the aluminum channel lip under the hardware. You can see in the photo it is aluminum colored now. I also needed to bend the channel a little bit to get the driver side rod back in. My install is upside down compared to the instructions. Also the wiring is not the same color as the instructions but not difficult to figure out. The blue is open and green is lock. Overall I like the product and would recommend it. I do not expect any problems with this well made product that the one year warranty would cover but you never know. If I do have a problem I will return it to Amazon. I also installed the tail gate pop n lock at the same time.
