These require heavy modification to use through tile or hard substrates, the should be fine for drywall though. The corners and tabs on these are way bigger than the 5/16 hole indicated on the package. For drywall they would just push through and bite/work totally fine. To use through tile (like i was for a shower curtain rod) you need to shave approximately 1/16 off every corner as well as cut off the tabs, even then youll have a heck of a time hammering it in and rusk cracking tiles. Id highly recommend finding something else for use in anything other than drywall, regardless of what the package says.

I needed to attach a molly to the same area but drywall was ruined. Although this was missing the yellow popper to help butterfly the spring, I was Able to use it with success. Drywall will still be weak from being used but this attached to stronger parts

These are so good at replacing other wall fasteners that have come loose that I don't bother using the others in the first place, even if the item to be mounted on the wall comes with those. For the cost, these are an easy substitution, and I haven't experienced failure with them, as with the other kinds.
