I was pretty excited to try these out. I’m 5’3” and on most airlines, my feet cannot rest flat on the ground unless I scoot forward in my seat. And that’s no way to endure a long flight.These arrived very flat, and it was difficult to get the first one to unfold and stand up. Now that I’ve gotten one opened, it no longer folds as flat as it did when it arrived. The handles are staying in pretty well, but I can see losing one easily on a trip. My biggest issue is that these raise my feet and knees too high when sitting on a standard chair in my home. I am concerned that I may be instructed to put it away during a flight, especially if I’m seated on an aisle, due to safety issues. For now, we may use these as kid foor rests during dinners. I may even try to use the basket for my (nearly empty) personal item, then quietly flip it over inflight - but only if I have a window seat.

I like anything that can make my travel comfortable...so look for something that is not heavy, multipurpose, and does not take a lot of space. This almost hit all the boxes. But the footrest is not light because it has to have some sturdiness. Make sure to check the picture for measurements. The other photo showed the footrest as if it were wider, but no, your whole feet will not fit flat on top of it. It is not so easy to unfold it either. And yeah, it does not work as a bag.

So the product works as you would expect, and it is easy to use. It also packs flat so it fits into a carry-on without fuss.Problem is, I was not allowed to use it on my flight because it was considered a hazard if we had to evacuate.I will use this instead for long car rides where I am the passenger, not on airplanes.

These take muscle to push them into the stool position, not something easily done in that tiny space between your seat and the one in front. But even so, if you can get it open it is quite sturdy and a good height to rest feet.But, then comes the next problem and honestly more important probably. Because of the material and the force required to reshape this thing, when collapsing it, it makes an extremely loud popping/snapping sound which is sure to startle all around you right when no one wants to be startled on a flight.So, I'll have to find some other use for these. They do lie flat but are rather large...about the size of a thin laptop.

I ordered this footrest intending to use it on some overnight flights. It does work well enough as a place to rest your feet, but there are a couple of challenges that make it not very practical. First, it's very difficult to open (although it's a little easier to re-fold). I thought perhaps folding and unfolding it repeatedly would make opening it easier, but after a good many trials --twenty or so--it still requires too much force to push down on the top while pulling both sides out. I understand this helps ensure it won't collapse in use, which is good. But the real deal-breaker for me is that it no longer lies flat when folded, taking up more space than I'm willing to concede in my carry-on bag. Also, one feature doesn't work well. The item's product info shows using it as a basket-like container, and it comes with two accessory handles to make that possible. Unfortunately, the handles stay in place only when you're actively carrying the upturned stool. The minute I put it down, one or both handles fall out. The handles are easy to install--but constantly having to reinsert them makes that product feature annoying if not useless. On the plus side, the material is quite sturdy, waterproof, and lightweight. But setting it up is too cumbersome, and it takes too much carry-on real estate, so this item will not go with me on my travels.

I’m someone who is only 4‘11“ and who struggles to reach the floor with my feet when seated anywhere unless I’m sitting on kid chairs. Having a little height help is very very nice. I always wish there would be something that would slide out from underneath seating at event places, or places of worship so that my feet wouldn’t dangle. This little invention is a God send! And it folds flat and fits in most big purses. I think it’s cute that you can also use it as a tote bag too. Great job to whoever came up with this! Get one for all your short loved ones!
