This is basically a simple box made of sheet metal and painted black. There is a bottom tray that can be removed for emptying and cleaning which is really nice. You don't have to tip the thing over to clean it or empty out the ashes. There is a grill on the bottom to keep air under the charcoal which is also a nice touch. On a windy beach it makes the coals come up longer. The top is a simple grill top that is a little better than chicken wire but not as sturdy as hardware cloth. It was flat when it was new, but as you can see in the pictures, there are some curves in it after the first use. Grilled a tray of sausages and a tray of three steaks. There is no way to control the amount of air getting to the coals, and no way to alter the height of the grill if the coals are too hot. Basically, I think it would be good for simple grilling like hot dogs and hamburgers, simple stuff. Light to carry around but a little bulky for hinking. but okay for beach or picnics where you would pull it out of a trunk. All in all, good for simple temporary use. I think it might last one season depending on how often you use it, but simple sheet metal will eventually just rust and weaken.

I ordered this for our weekend RV trips. It serves its purpose because there are only two of us and it's used relatively infrequently. Otherwise, I don't expect it to have a long life.

This grill is very portable, due to its size. It doesn't take up much room at all. Seems pretty well made and durable. I will upload an update if it doesn't meet my expectations once used. But fresh out of the box, it looks well made.
