This little speaker sure can get loud! Dually, it can also be quiet when used personally or in a bedroom. It has good sound for a fun family night of karaoke, a sleepover, or for just listening to music while you work in the kitchen. The microphones are mini and good for kids in particular, but still wide enough for it not to be awkward for an adult to hold. You can make some adjustments to the amount of echo which is nice, and it has some different voices or a voice changer for fun. I'm not too interested in the settings so much as I am whether it plays the music loudly enough for my kids to sing karaoke over and not drown out the music, and it does! I love that it encourages my kids to express themselves vocally and through music. It would also be nice to make some announcements at small events like a little Halloween party at your house to call the kids to gather around for a costume contest or to go trick or treating, or maybe even a block party that you're hosting in your yard. It is quite small so the sound doesn't travel as much outside and I haven't tested it that well, but a crowd of people around you will definitely hear you loud and clear. I can hear it very loudly through the house with the door open. Closing the door blocks it out quite well though, so it's mainly good for inside doing karaoke but can have multiple purposes. Also, the color changing is very eye catching and pretty to look at. It's a great gift for kids, pre-teens, or teens, and even for the karaoke loving adult or music lover. As a gift, it would pair well with some dance party lights!
