Don't buy this kit to rebuild your Scout 2 steering gear. Mine is a 1977, none of the bearings fit and the input shaft seals are way too small. You're better off buying a different kit. Going this route will cost you a lot more purchasing the parts to finish the job since the bearings are the expensive part and the bearings in this kit don't fit.

For a scout ii it will need a extra bearing and the input shaft bearing and seal and dust cover seal did not fit my box. Other than that it’s a complete kit that works good.

The specs said that it would fit Jeep CJ7 79-1986. The small bearing ring was not not large enough and just dropped through the space it was to be tapped into. The hard plastic washers are not as thick as the ones I removed and after tapping them in there the space that was left between the last steel washer and retaining pin was ridiculous. The piece that is a small dust cover Is also way to small and falls right through the space that it should fit. I found out the above after I had already put on the larger thin rubber black seals and colored Teflon seals Place. They actually did fit.

Used this kit to rebuild a Grand Cherokee steering box. There are several videos that show how to rebuild. This kit took all the looseness out of the gear box. Hardest part was removing the pitman arm.

I rebuilt my power steering gearbox on a '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited using this kit. The rebuild was no easy task but my result was great. The steering box works like new--with no leaks! Youtube has some helpful (but not very detailed) videos on doing the rebuild if you choose to try your hand at a rebuild.
