Powerbuilt 3/8 in. Drive 1-1/16 in. Oil Press Sending Socket
For removing and installing the 1-1/16-in hex oil pressure sending units found on 1991 and newer GM and some Chrysler engines. 3/8-in drive socket features a 2-5/8-in recess for switch body. Socket can also be turned with a 7/8-in end wrench on the external hex. Chrome vanadium steel for strength. Meets or exceeds ANSI standards.

The old switch was installed very tight and the inside of the socket actually deformed as the metal cold flowed allowing the socket to skip off the switch. I have never seen even a marginal socket do this in 35 years. They break but they never distort. Grinding 3/16" off the end of the socket gave me enough purchase on the sensor to get it out on a second try but this is not a functional tool from my experience.

After 3 other purchases of a similar tool, this one fit the longer Oil Pressure Sender for my LS1, GM part number D1818A. Other tools did not fit, they were too short.

Seems a shame to have to buy something for a one time use BUT this did exactly what I needed it to do. A chrome socket would have looked prettier but the slight texture made this socket easier to keep a hold of and I didn't drop it which was a definite plus.

As expected, good quality. Tight access on the 2011 Yukon oil sensor so make sure you have a swivel and 4-6" extension to get back there.

A must have socket to remove the oil pressure sensor. Fit my 2011 Chevy Silverado 5.3 vortec motor. I recommend replacing the screen when you replace sensor. Use a dental type pick to remove the litte screen otherwise you will be digging for it. Time consuming.

Cheap and easily removed ops.Problem occurred when installing after market ops. The after market part was metric and a hair larger than 1-1/8”. Getting the socket off the new part was nearly impossible.I removed the new part, knocked it out of socket, and lubed up the socket and part. I was able to remove with a little force once reinstalled.
