Ditch the grit. Get rid the dirtiest oil left in the valley of your stock pan from all your previous oil changes.
The stock Duramax engine oil pan is stamped steel (very poor heat dissipation) and there is a valley in the pan which prevents your old oil from being completely drained on each oil change. This leaves behind nearly a quart of the dirtiest oil, which immediately contaminates your fresh oil.
PPE solves these problems. First, this deep pan is engineered with a flat bottom. This feature allows you to drain all of your oil pan’s dirty engine oil. Second, it’s made from cast aluminum for strength and optimum heat dissipation. Third, PPE’s new deep oil pan holds an extra quart of oil so you will see reduced oil temperature, higher oil pressure, and better lubrication to your engine’s vital components.
Another feature is the unshrouded oil pickup. The engine then has less restriction near the oil pickup, resulting in higher oil pressure. Higher oil pressure equals better lubrication.

This is a great update to my duramax 6.6 LBZ. It will hold one more quart. If you decide to add the PPE oil filter then it will be another extra quart for a total of 12 quart. Your oil pressure will look low on your gauge but don’t worry that it’s normal for the extra capacity. Overall great oil pan. Installation is easy with the right tools. And, it looks great under your truck.

By far an amazing product, I am so bummed out!!! If you have a Lifted truck think twice before you purchase this no matter how far you Jack up the engine and transmission you cannot fit this Pan and between the lyft kit and the oil pickup . You will have to pull the transmission out or Access that extra 2 and a 1/2 inches of clearance somewhere

Fix perfect on 2009 GMC Sierra. I recommendBuy a new low oil sensor with clip. I used ac delco engine sealantI got sick of changing my oil then it being black right after , horrible design but this fixed that right away , I love it just for that plus it looks awesome

Nice pan, installation isn’t too bad but getting the crossmember off is a bit of a trick. That was the hardest part. I think you need a 19mm 1/2” socket and as long of a cheater as you can get.

First let say, PPE builds quality parts. With that said I had a small problem with the pan. The stand offs for the oil sensor were uneven. I called PPE direct. They were very helpful and took care of the problem super fast. Let be clear this one issue was a very uncommon issue. PPE products are top notch and I still continue to us them.
