Enabled me to align lathe headstock and tailstock in around half an hour. An out of alignment lathe is pretty useless.

My MX-210V mini-lathe arrived with a horribly misaligned tailstock, and I was having a heck of a time figuring out which "knobs to turn" to get it aligned properly. I'd watched some YT vids on turning your own bar to figure out and fix alignment as it's being turned, but I still couldn't get it right. Then within 20 minutes of this alignment bar arriving at my door, I had everything dialed in properly.It's well made with a good finish and hardness, and yet inexpensive enough that I'll suggest that it's a "must have" for your home shop.

I spent a week using different methods to align my metal lather ( 88 years since its manufacture) Chuck to the tail stock. No matter which method I tried, it was always "off" a little, which I considered TOO much!Twenty minutes after receiving the Edge Test Bar, my lathe was accurately aligned to within 0.0005", in spite of my "help"!BEST money I have spent on a single usage tool ever!
