On the device I received, all the fraction measurements are shown in 1/32 of an inch increments; for example 3/8" shows as 12/32; 1/8" shows as 4/32 ...... etc.. This is not fun to convert in your head while working on a project.Therefore, this tool cannot resolve a fraction to less than 1/32. This may be fine if you are only using this in the kitchen, but it would be very problematic in the shop for obvious reasons, as odd 64ths such as 7/64 or 5/64, and so on measurements would read 1/64 off.Also, this device appears to be made of a hard plastic, as I could not visually identify any carbon fiber material.There is no friction adjustment either to hold tight your measurement.I would pass on this model if you need fractions reduced to the least common denominator a measurements resolved finer than 1/32"

Measuring range is 0..150mm (0..6”) and there is no accuracy identified. However, measurement repeatability is 0.2mm (0.01”) which isn’t bad provided it is within your project’s tolerance requirements. The total length of the caliper is about 23.5cm and it is powered by a common CR2032 battery.First impressions, orange and black color scheme pops and the action of the caliper is smooth. This unit is smoother and operates better than the caliper I bought a few years ago at double the cost. The other item that I like is the large digital display, anyone who wears glasses can appreciate this feature, not to mention the various units of measure supported.The first object I measured was a IR temperature sensor can with narrow FOV and it measured the diameter of the can accurately. This will be very handy sizing holes for enclosure connectors and much more when inner or outer diameter measurements are needed.For the cost I would encourage you to give this tool a try, it is a handy tool to have in your toolbox.

This is a wonderful tool for hobbyist and around the home workshop. I find myself using it to quickly identify the diameter of bolts and I use it alot to measure different Wd printed parts thag must fit together. I love the large display and the ability to not only use mm and decimal inches but also fractional inches.Although it is a plastic caliper, the sliding action feels very smooth.

This product feels well made, comes with a spare battery in the included hard carry case and works well. Comes with clear instructions for use too. Can't ask for more!
