  • Kit includes: 1.0 joule IntelliShock Energizer, 100' of DC MaxiShock Insulated Cable and 3' galvanized ground rod with clamp. Kit is designed for folks that are new to using electric fence, but also very useful for the experienced users.
  • Used to electrify a fence to keep out deer, raccoon, rabbits, coyotes, stray dogs, bear and fox.
  • Low impedance energizer. Low impedance have pulses that are very short (in time) but higher in energy.
  • Should energize 2 miles of 3 strand cattle fence, 3/4 mile of 5-7 strand sheep fence, 10 rolls of 164' sheep/goat nets or 4-5 rolls of poultry netting. All distances are dependent on the amount of grass/weed load on the fence.

Premier intellishock energizer

Premier IntelliShock 10 Energizer

This 1 joule unit automatically adjusts battery draw down by as much as 67% if the fence isn’t touching green weeds or shorted out. The need to recharge a battery is therefore much less.

Common Uses

A 110V AC or 12V DC electric fence energizer used mostly to keep out deer, raccoons and rabbits from garden/orchard areas. It is also used to keep in poultry, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and guard dogs. Effective at protecting against coyotes, stray dogs, bear and fox.

Should Power**

  • 2 miles of 3 strand cattle fence
  • 3/4 mile of a 5-7 strand sheep fence
  • 10 of the 164' sheep/goat nets
  • 4-5 of the 164' poultry nets

**All distances are dependent on amount of grass/weed load on the fence. Low-impedance circuitry produces a short, very strong electrical pulse designed to cope with moderate weed load.

Miscellaneous

  • Requires a grounding system. Inadequate grounding is the most common failure in an electric fence system. We recommend 3 ft. of grounding for this energizer.
  • 12V battery draw is 31-90 milliampere (mA) per hour. With this energizer a 12V, 100 ampere hour deep-cycle battery will last approximately 27 (on a weedy fence) and 80 (on a clean fence) days. (Assumes 40% drawn down between charges.)
  • To operate as a solar energizer, run the unit as a battery unit (DC) and attach a solar panel to charge the battery. (10 watt panel recommended.)

Installation

Plug-In Unit

The energizer can be mounted either inside or outside of a building, but not where there is risk of fire. The energizer must be mounted vertically. Protect the energizer from direct rainfall.

  1. Connect an insulated cable (stripped back 1 - 2" on ends) to the fence terminal on energizer, run the cable to the fence line and connect, or use the positive part of the wiring harness.
  2. Then run a second length of cable from the ground terminal (with ends stripped again) on the energizer to the ground rod(s), or use the negative part of the wiring harness.
  3. Secure to ground rod(s) with a clamp.
  4. Plug the energizer directly into an outlet and test fence. Do not use an extension cord as it may cause a decrease in voltage and expose the unit to the elements.

Precautions:

  • Make sure the power is turned off before working on the fence or the energizer.
  • Never place your head or upper spine near an electrified wire. Accidental head or neck contact can occur when pushing a voltage probe into the soil. Be careful when doing so to avoid head-to-wire contact!
  • Never attempt to step over or climb through an energized fence of any kind.

Energizer Specifications

  • 1.00 released joules
  • 1.00 joules in moist soils
  • 0.32 joules in dry soils
  • Pulses per minute: 38
  • 12V DC draw: 31-90 mA/hr
  • 110V draw is 4.5 watt per hour
  • Impedance type: low – pulse type
  • A wiring harness is included to connect energizer to fence and energizer to ground rod.

I use this for about 900 feet of the four foot poultry netting fence. Super easy to set up and the box is small so it dosent look ugly set up anywhere! I was worried it didn’t work at first but after calling support I figured out it was just because I had shoes on and wasn’t grounded 🤣. This thing packs a punch so just be ware. Definitely worth every penny

unless you are twelve yrs old, multiply set up time by 2 for every ten yrs over 20. protects my chickens...so i don't have to harm wildlife. killing creatures does not please me....this fencing is worth the money and effort to install.....i live in the edge of the Blue ridge mtns. keeping out both small and large animals is a real plus.

First what I like/discovered. I felt that the shock was not strong enough to ward off any animal. I was wrong. One of my dogs accidentally got close to the fence before I could shut it off. He yelped and took off away from our netted fence.I have felt it and think it could be stronger because it really was a wimpy shock. If I had it to do over I would definitely buy a stronger model.
