Step 1
First, open the mini carabiner clip closure, attach things to the locking carabiners and turn the screw up.
Step 2
Rotate the screw, the D shape buckle and the locking mechanism of the small carabiner clips will make things securely attached.
Step 3
Remember to tighten the screw up to block the buckle of the keychain carabiner.
Step 4
Screw the caribiner tightly. Once you screw the mini locking carabiners, they will never unscrew themselves.

These are good for the price. The lock does tend to unscrew itself and they don't feel SUPER sturdy, but work for what I need.

The carabiners themselves are good quality and feel quite sturdy. They're made out of aluminum, so you shouldn't put any significant load on it. This is definitely NOT for attaching hammocks or swings like some of the pictures in the product listing show. I would be very careful with putting more than a couple of dozen pounds weight on it. Think of it this way: if this thing breaks, could anyone get hurt? If the answer is yes -> use another product. If the answer is no -> it's probably ok to use. My suggestion would be light duty applications such as holding keys or an extra garb on the outside of the backpack (when backpacking). I'd imagine it'd also be okay to hold a dog leash for small to medium size dog.My other problem with this product other than misleading product listing is that it doesn't really lock. The locking ring just barely screws up. It technically locks, but just barely, only by about half a thread. I have other locking carabiners, where the locking ring screws all the way up and there are no questions about whether it's locked or not. Definitely not the case here. This part feels very cheaply made. Don't expect much from that locking ring.

I use these for hooking my dogs retractable leash to my belt. This keeps both hands free while hiking. I've had issues with simple spring clip caribiners coming in sprung and spring tab breaking off. These seem much studier and the dubbled knurling on the lock should be great.
