My neighbor and I are both bourbon and whiskey enthusiasts, so when I saw these, I was definitely curious. Upon receiving them, the handcrafted nature is apparent. When using them, for example, while enjoying a glass of bourbon the other evening, there's a subtle hint of a charred aroma that accompanies the drink. It's not overpowering and doesn't drastically change the flavor profile, but it's there. Personally, I find these wooden "glasses" quite appealing, though their primary draw seems to be the aesthetic – the novelty of sipping whiskey or bourbon from what feels like a miniature charred barrel is undeniably neat, and I appreciate that.

Took about four days to brake in. After that the whiskey tasted quite a bit smoother.

I can say that I definitely enjoy a good glass of bourbon or whiskey from time to time. I don’t consider myself and expert, but I do know what tastes good to me is what is most important. My wife found these wooden glasses and immediately thought of me. When I opened them, I was kinda taken aback. I would have never thought of getting, let alone drinking from wooden glasses. Furthermore, I wasn’t buying into the fact that they would enhance or even change the flavor profile.Well I am happy to say that I was completely WRONG. These well made wooden glasses seem to elevate the entire drinking experience. The changes in flavor are subtle, but are without a doubt noteworthy. If you enjoy a cocktail from time to time, especially whiskey or bourbon, then I would get a set of these glasses and give them a try.Just as a side note, these glasses are on the smaller side and work better as tasting glasses, not cocktail glasses, especially if you are going to add ice.

These glasses are on the smaller side, 2.75” x 2.75”. They are beautiful. The finish is even, smooth, no roughness anywhere; very nice! There were no care instructions included with these glasses. The only problem I found with these glasses is that they weep your drink. I’m not talking about sweating. Your drink seeps through the wood and will drip down the outside of the glass. I have a larger set of wooden glasses manufactured by Tinnberlohas, 3.5” x 3.5”. They came with pre use and care instructions. Their instructions were to coat the inside of the glasses with vegetable oil and let dry, and to repeat this process several times. So, I did this to these glasses, and it took care of the problem. No more weeping! I initially thought why would you not want your drink to absorb into the wood and season it. Now I know why.

Very nice gift idea and well made. The color and grain is stunning and the weight is perfect in my opinion. Would like to see them slightly larger... the more bulky "gentlemen's cubes" are a tight fit with the narrow opening, but these work fine to sip spirits without ice. The interior is finished with a nice char that does not interfere with the aroma or tasting of your liquor. Easily can be hand washed and make an attractive display for the bar room. Pricing is slightly elevated, but you receive a handmade quality item with attractive packaging.

I love bourbon. It's my position of choice. I enjoy it so much, I married a girl from Kentucky just to have an excuse to be close to the delicious elixir...ok, maybe I married my wife first and then discovered my passion for her native drink later. That's up for debate. At any rate, anything that enhances bourbon without altering it I am game for. When I first saw these "glasses", I was skeptical. It seemed like a gimmick. However, I do have a little personalized bourbon keg that will improve cheap, crappy bourbon if you leave it to soak in there for a few weeks. I wondered what a charred cup could do instantly. In short...I dunno if it does a whole lot to the bourbon itself. The cups are smooth and incredibly well made. The inside is indeed charred but it leaves no residue when you was them out. It's not like a raw char. I'm not sure what it would actually do the liquor in terms of contact right out of the gate lest you let it sit on the cup for a day or something. No one who enjoys bourbon is gonna wait that long ;)What it DOES do is give the liquor a bit of a different mouth feel and the scent of the char comes through when you drink your bourbon. The cup doesn't feel like glass or crystal. You actually feel and this taste the wood. The charred inside gives you a bit of a hufd of smoke as you sip making you feel as if your whiskey has been sitting in a charred barrel longer than it probably has.I tried it with Buffalo Trace, a favorite middle of the road sipping bourbon for me. Nothing to fancy that I won't mix it into a Manhattan or Old Fashioned but smooth enough I will sip it neat or over a large cube of ice. This little cup made the BT feel and taste different enough on my pallet (in a good way), that I sorta forgot what I was drinking. I don't think it altered the bourbon in a tangible way, but the feel and smell elevated the experience. So if you are or know a bourbon lover and want a special gift u like what they most likely have, give these a shot....no pun intended;)
