I was impressed by the exactness of the fit to the frame. Grip feels natural to me. Dressed the gun up nicely too.

Put these on my J Frame and for the money, they are pretty good! Didn't have to modify them at all, were easy to install and they look great!

Grip installed by gun smith. On first use the grip broke off. Do not buy.

I love the appearance and grip, but my pocket holster clip does not align with the screw holes. Other than that, I love it.

Fit is not perfect but functional. Maybe a 1/32" off on one side of both panels. Close enough for me. Nice looking. And in spite of the ad, they are wood, not acrylic as mentioned.

Great, old-school look for 638. Finish is excellent, & fit was 90%- the left grip shoulder was cut a bit off, so grip can slide +1/16" out of position, just far enough to be felt. They are thin & easy to conceal, yet still allow me to get all 3 fingers on the grip, which i really like. The down side, of course, is that these old-school grips will turn your J-Frame back into an old-fashioned miniature hand cannon. Narrow wooden grips means the tool is more apt to turn a bit in your hand when hauling back on a d/a trigger, especially with the alloys/airweights; I really needed to (re)train up with these. And, of course, there is zero cushioning. Even average .38 loads translate into sharply felt recoil; there are good reasons why S&W factory-installs rubber boot grips; these grips are the opposite. So, cool throwback look, light & easy to conceal, can fit the extra digit, but I find it wants to pull off target, so practice (you know this, but these grips definitely take the J out of the "beginner shooter" realm) & least-cool, substantially more felt recoil. The price is good & the product is quality, so is it what you want? Me, I'm using them

The wood and checkering are very nice. The rosewood has good density and is finished well. i put these on a S&W 638. In my opinion the 638 isn't a good looking gun but these do help give it a more traditional and stylish appearance. I was using Hogue rubber grips but did not like that my middle finger couldn't go behind the trigger guard with them. While these aren't as grippy as rubber, they do have good grip due to nice checkering. I have a better hold, and one that I like, with these grips even though they are small and thin. Very nice for pocket carry using a pocket holster. The quality of these is even with grips I've spent alot more on.
