I have a lot of experience with other parrot cages, and would rate this as one of the best. Avian Adventures used to be my favorite although a lot more expensive, but I've switched to these cages from Prevue for a handful of reasons. The main reasons I love them is that they are light weight, extremely simple to assemble and take down, and super easy to clean. Just overall very practical. When I bought our first one, I had it assembled in less than two minutes. Most people won't even need to look at the directions. Its easy to take down as well. This makes it ideal for traveling.Unlike other cages, this one is very "airy" and allows a lot of light. Some others I've had use thick bars on the corners and doors and it makes the cage seem not as open, and darkens it a bit.As far as cleaning goes, I love not needing a seed guard. Since the bottom pan is pretty deep most of the food and debris lands in the bottom of the cage rather than outside on the floor. I wipe down the cages daily and it's very easy to keep them neat and well maintained.I do prefer play top cages but since this one is not, I simply found tabletop play stands and secured them to the top of the cage. You can find plenty of them on Amazon or at local bird shops.I have an Indian Ringneck in one, and a Moustache Parakeet in another. They are similar in size and I probably wouldn't use these cages for anything larger, especially a parrot that could chew through rather thin bars. I think both of my parrots have plenty of space. My only complaint would possibly be the food cups and doors for the food cups. The cups are small, and placed towards the bottom of the cage. This is not the best idea since parrots tend to want to be towards the top of the cage and will end up going to the bathroom in their food/water dishes. Easily fixed by purchasing other food bowls and attaching them wherever you prefer. If you have a crafty parrot like I do, they will quickly learn that they can easily open the doors for the food dishes. I've used zip ties to keep them closed and it's worked so far.I did purchase the stands for these cages and that makes them really easy to wheel around. I read reviews for the stand and saw complaints that the shelf falls out when the stand is moved. If that is putting you off from purchasing the stand, don't let it. When assembling the stand you have to tighten the bolts. If you do this you shouldn't have an issue with the shelf popping out.Overall, although it's not as pretty as some other cages this is an excellent purchase!

This is a beautiful, large and well made cage. Plenty of room for my sun conure and his large trapeze and tons of other toys! Mine is black and I purchased from the Amazon Warehouse. The black color will make a brightly colored bird look brighter! The box was very damaged when it arrived but the cage was pristine. The wire bars are nice and heavy, no bird is going to bend these bars. It has three nice, large dishes, and the dish doors aren't the kind he can slide up easily, they have a slight bend in the wire that prevents the bird from lifting them up. I love the way the main door closes, so he can stay safely inside when I'm not home. Actually this may be big enough for two small conures, but I wouldn't want to crowd them, but you could definitely put two small lovebirds,in it. It would be a nice travel cage for a larger parrot like an African Grey staying somewhere temporarily but not long term.II will definitely purchase the optional stand, but I have it on a large buffet right now.Although the bottom is plastic, it's a nice heavy duty plastic. The bars are nice and heavy and don't rust. The door locking mechanism works well, and I disagree with all the critical reviews, because there is no way there bars could break off unless you used a power tool on them. The bottom grate is removable and I don't use it. The 2 included perches are nice and large.I am very impressed at how easy this cage was to put together and no tools were needed. For the money spent I believe it's an excellent bargain compared to other cages I've seen. My sun conure, Tiki, loves having more room for his acrobatics, for his toys, and for entertaining me. I'm glad I didn't give much thought to the critical reviews, because this cage is fantastic.Definitely will buy it again if I need another one.

I've had several cages over time for my two sun conures so I've had other cages to compare this to. This cage is a perfect size for them. I'm able to have several toys inside, three perches, and two large bowls for food and water, and my birds can comfortably stretch their wings and move about freely. It's very easy to clean. The base is made of a thick strong plastic and nicely painted black metal bars that are slightly thicker than most standard cages. The plastic tray slips in and out w/out difficulty and does not retain smell. Because the base is made of plastic, it is lighter in weight than the metal ones that I've had in the past.Conures have strong beaks. Mine have detached the metal bars and chewed the paint off of other metal cages exposing the metal which rusted over time. Not this cage. We've had this cage for about 3 years and the condition is still like new.Another thing I'd like to point out is the large door. It's great to have a large door so that you're able to change out large food bowls and toys, but also big enough so that the birds won't have to squeeze out or damage their feathers. The door has a latch that will keep sneaky birds safely inside and not let themselves out. (This was a problem with other cages I've had before) The door also opens up into a large perch. This has been by far my favorite cage and well worth the investment. It's not as heavy as most cages of this size, it's sturdy, and well-made. I have also purchased another small Prevue cage for traveling and I am also happy with it. I definitely recommend this cage.As a bonus, I find that the black color of the cage looks sleek, less messy, and my birds look beautiful in contrast to the color. There isn't one thing I don't love about it.
