Out of the box you'll need two AAA batteries (not included). Instructions are very easy to follow, powered up and went to testing on a trigger I had a documented range for.Peak function works well, I received steady readings within the expected range. However no matter how many retests I did, the 'MIN' reading never went off zero's (8 11ish was the normal readings I was getting, not sure where the MAX 9 5.4 came from). I ran through this multiple times and the MIN stayed at zero and MAX was over what I saw as the peak pull.I did try the 'Live function' but it's really difficult to watch and pull at the same time, maybe a second person.Other than the 'math' issue along the bottom row, the labels are difficult to read (MAX, LB, OZ, MIN...) until you get to know it.The instructions say it has a 'auto shutoff' at 10 minutes, however mine was more like 30 seconds of inactivity. Trying to read the instructions to ensure I'm going it correctly, grab a photo and it shuts down which erases all your data.Overall the main display provides a good, accurate reading but you can't really trust the bottom information (well the count of trigger pulls is correct!)

PRIDEFEND!!!!The new Pridefend Trigger Pull Gauge is the best way to get a accurate and consistent trigger pull pressure! With the enclosed manual, that is very easy to read, you can learn how to operate the Trigger Pull Gauge in the different modes very easily. Another very big plus is you can set it to show you The Data LIVE!!In Peak Function it will record and store your Trigger Pull pressure and record it, then Automatically calculate your Average For you!! You can set it to record in 3 different increments being, LB, KG, and OZ, And then if you like you can set it up to show the LIVE data in each of those 3!!The Live Data is not recorded but can be a Great tool for INSTANT FEEDBACK!!This Trigger Pull Gauge is great for setting your Trigger to a accurate and perfect pressure for your personal needs!! I like this ability because some Trigger pressures I like to have at a lighter pressure so that my shot is always right on!! And accurate Trigger Pull pressure can be obtained for individual Trigger Pull Pressure for different shooting styles and different people, with the ability to calculate the average between each person it will improve and create a more accurate shot very fast!!If you use a adjustable Trigger you Undoubtedly need the PRIDEFEND TRIGGER PULL GAUGE!!!!

It does what it is supposed to do. It may not be super accurate, but I don't use one often and it works fine for me. I just needed something to quantify small changes I make and this works fine for that. It seemed accurate to me, but I don't have anything to compare it to. The quality seems pretty decent and it works fine.

Seems like a good gauge. It seems about on par with my Wheeler trigger pull gauge. When I did a side-by-side test with my Wheeler they were pretty close to each other in terms of measured pull weight. Measuring trigger pull weights is never consistent in my experience. I could (and did) take multiple measurements even with my Wheeler and they varied. You can see that in my side-by-side test they were basically identical.I like that you can have it output the peak measurement -- So the highest number measured in the trigger pull test. So basically trying to see what the overall trigger pull was til the trigger broke. Or you can use live which shows you what the trigger pull weight is in that moment as you're applying pressure. When in PEAK mode you can enter each trigger pull test into the temporary memory and it will track min/max weights so you know in that session of multiple tests what the lightest weight was and what the heaviest weight was.On top of that PEAK mode also has an average tracker. So if you save multiple trigger pulls in a session it will show a running average of the trigger pulls so far. That's really cool because then you can easily get an average of the trigger pull weight. One thing I would like to see changed/improved is the auto shutoff. Great that it has that to conserve battery life. But the manual says it has a 10 min shutoff but I timed it because I noticed it was turning off much faster and my stopwatch was at about 50 seconds from when I turned it on to when the LCD screen turned off completely. 1 minute is far too fast if you are trying to gather an average pull weight session, as the calculations do not persist if the device turns off. I would probably take half a star off if I could do that but I don't feel like it's a big enough issue to take a whole star off because at least for me if I am gathering an average I am doing it all in one sitting. The device takes 2 AAA batteries which is nice.Other than the discrepancy with the auto shutoff time, the manual seems accurate and clear.Using the device can be a bit awkward at first because the way you use it to measure the trigger weight is very different from what something like the Wheeler. But after a couple of tries it became more natural. Since I am right handed I just flipped the device upside down so the LCD screen is facing down so I could put the shorter end of the sensor on the right side where my finger would go into the trigger guard.Overall I like the functionality and I think the value for the money is great. For a little more you can get this over the Wheeler trigger pull gauge I have and you get easier numbers to read, as well as functions like live weight, peak weight, min/max weight, and average weight.

This was easy to use, after you read the directions. I was not very confident in the readings because there was a hug variation in the trigger pull, until I read to hold your finger on the plastic lead and pull with that. I found turning it upside down allowed me to test well and get good results. The settings are very easy to figure out. This looks to be a good trigger gauge for the money.

Trigger gauge isn't the greatest. My other gauge can sense when the trigger breaks and it will stops measuring. This doesn't do that. This will continue going up until you stop pushing on it. My other was much more expensive though. The way this operates, it makes it almost impossible to get an accurate reading. Really have to pay attention to this and release pressure on it when the trigger breaks. Even then, I can only get this to read within about a half pound of my good scale. For the price, this thing might be OK. It is far from great though. If I was in the market for a trigger pull gauge, I would spend more and get a better unit than this.
