Product Description

Primary Arms SLx 4-16x44 FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated

This Primary Arms rifle scope is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics built their reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Primary Arms 4-16x44mm first focal plane illuminated rifle scope combines one of the most popular magnification ranges for hunting with the features and innovations you'd expect from Primary Arms. At 4x magnification, the wide field of view and daylight bright reticle make tracking a moving target a breeze, while the top end's 16x magnification allows for unerring precision. The reticle is etched into the first focal plane. This means it is 'true' at every magnification, ensuring the ranging, holdovers, and wind holds can be used as long as you can see them.

This 4-16x44mm SLx scope is equipped with the ACSS R Grid 2B reticle. A marked improvement over the original R Grid, the 2B retains fan favorites like the horseshoe and chevron for close range shooting at low magnification, as well as the incredibly handy auto-ranging system. The original line grid has been replaced with a 0.1 MIL dot matrix grid to reduce clutter and allow for more precise holdover references for a full 15 MILs below the center. For shooters who want the best reticle for long range shooting without sacrificing speed up close, look no further than the ACSS R Grid 2B, compatible with ANY caliber.

The 4-16x44mm scope body offers new innovative features, as well as old favorites. A removable and replaceable fin on the power ring allows for rapid adjustment of the magnification range just like a magnification lever, with the fin's placement entirely at the operator's discretion. The improved turrets have tactile and audible 0.1 MIL click adjustments. The illumination turret offers eleven settings. A smooth parallax adjustment and fast focus eyepiece work together to provide a perfectly crisp image of the target and reticle.

First Focal Plane (FFP) Reticle 1x

First Focal Plane (FFP) Reticles

A First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle means your reticle size does change relative to zoom.

Pros: The reticle is always true regardless of magnification. This means the stadia marks are always true and can be used at any magnification.

Cons: Slightly more expensive compared to Second Focal Plane (SFP) due to being a bit more challenging to manufacture.

ACSS R-GRID 2B Reticle

ACSS R-Grid 2B’s center section uses a bold chevron and horseshoe for fast target acquisition at closer ranges and lower magnifications. Overall, the reticle extends 10 MIL up, left, and right of the center chevron aiming point, and 15 MIL down. Large hash marks are found in 1.0 MIL increments, with smaller marks between them at 0.5 MIL increments.

Product arrived earlier than expected! The description doest do this scope justice! It is everything I needed and wanted. It's super clear, easily mounted, and it's lighted! The knows are a little stiff, but manageable. This is perfect for long range shooting and hunting.

Been wanting to try out a PA scope for awhile. Always hear good things. Shipping was fast. Scope seems well built, good glass. Putting this on my Winchester M70 that my grandpa handed down. Plan on taking it on some out west hunts. Only reason for 4 stars is the parallax adjustment is pretty stiff. Hopefully over some time it'll be easier to turn. Turrets feel nice and solid. Good audible "click". Hash marks line up well. Wish it had "off" position between each illumination adjustment. But for the price, definitely not a deal breaker. Would buy another one. Maybe will for my Rem 700 in the future.

Very accurate and holds zero well. Nice quality glass with adjustable brightness red illuminated reticle. Got good groups at 200 yards, haven't tried 500 yet but might be possible. This thing is seriously awesome for the price!

This is very decent glass. I have mine on a 6 ARC and its amazing. Even thoug its not bullet drop compensated for the 6 ARC the range finding reticle works so well all you need to do is know you hold overs for the range that you figure out using the etched reticle. So lets say your shooting at an 18" gong and the retical shows 600 yds. You have determined with your caliber with prior practice your hitting it with your 500 yd hold. So even though you ranged it at 600 you use 500. Easy... Also if the batteries go out you still have a reticle because it is etched in. Can't say enough about the value due to the capability of this scope.

It was a pleasant surprise to mount the scope on the rifle and find it was about six clicks off center. I didn't have to bore sight. I simply got lucky. Three rounds later I was dead center. The scope held zero after quite a few rounds. This scope is solid. I used the Primary Arms 30MM low profile rings, and the fit was perfect on a Remington 700 Heavy barrel. I would buy again if the need arises.

Probably the nicest scope in this price range I’ve ever owned. On par with scopes $100-$200 more. Primary Arms is making great stuff. Holds zero, great reticle, and crystal clear glass. Definitely looking at PA for future optics needs.

I hate to say "good for the money" but it's true. After looking through this scope I would have guessed a much higher price tag. Haven't really had a chance to try the ascc hud reticle yet. The scope is well built and has great glass. Usually you get what you pay for, but this right here is a bargain! Will be looking at primary arms for future optics!
