I wear XL gloves. These run small and are tight on my hands making them very difficult to remove. However they are of very high quality and bargain priced. The leather is soft and the stitching in the gloves is very consistent. I wish they were a little larger. If you can get a size to fit, I don’t think that you will go wrong with these excellent gloves.

Overall, the gloves look very nice and are comfortable. And, they are leather as advertised. However, it appears the leather has a thin film of synthetic material glued to the exposed surfaces to make them look nice and for color consistency. I have leather hand grips on my bicycle and when using these gloves my hands easily slip and slide on the grips. Upon investigation, the leather does in fact physically touch your hands, but the synthetic material covering the leather makes them too slick to use safely.I don't recommend. Two stars for nice looking and using leather as advertised.

I bought my first pair of leather/crocheted riding gloves almost 50 years ago (and didn't pay much more for them then!). Thick leather provides plenty of cushion, crocheted backs are well made, lengthy velcro ensures a good fit.... They do take a little work to get off, though; tabs on fingers might have made the process a little easier but am assuming this will get easier over time.

I'm quite pleased with these gloves -- very stiff and thick leather -- it took a few rides to "break them in," and I added a little leather conditioner to them to help them soften up a bit. But I really think these gloves will last for years. There was a small problem with the stitching when I got them (hence the 4-star review), but 5 minutes with a needle and thread took care of that. No biggie. For the price, I think they're great.Tip for gloves like this -- hand-wash only, add a little leather conditioner while they're still wet, and then let them drip-dry. Seriously, I've had gloves that have lasted for many years with this care routine.

I've been riding bikes for longer than I care to admit. As a teenager I had a set of crochet gloves from somewhere deep in Italy. Like many European imports from "back in the day," with use they developed a feel -- and dare I say, smell — that I've tried to rediscover for years. These are the closest I've found. What I like: Super comfortable. I grew up knowing that right fit means you can get away with minimal padding. These do the job admirably. The leather doesn't bleed on my hands, the crochet work is sturdy yet soft, and the gloves fit like, well, a glove. What I don't like: Two minor nits. the gloves are stiff for the first hundred miles or so, and difficult to take off. I tried the old trick of loops of thin ribbon between index/middle and ring/little finger holes. After a while, they were not necessary, and the gloves donned and doffed just fine. The second nit is probably a personal issue. The velcro film for the "hook" part of the Velcro fastener dug into my wrist. I trimmed about a millimeter back after 200 miles, and have had no further issues. What I wish were different: I've washed the gloves once, in warm water and dish soap. The leather did just fine, but the crochet is no longer cream white. I'll chalk that up to the patina of use.Bottom line: If you are a Gen-X cyclist, read "Tales from the Bike Shop" in paperback, appreciate how fast Alfredo Binda straps made you feel, or refuse to sell your first steel racing bike, you know you need these.

I've got about 50 miles in on these gloves right now and I think they're great. The padding is excellent and comfortable, the knit top keeps me warm but not too hot, they can be tricky to take off initially but just grab the knit section and they slide right off.Getting lots of compliments and "where did you get those" kind of comments in a short time. Hopefully they'll last a long time!

The M is a tiny bit snug but I don't mind as the leather will stretch with time. After reading reviews, I decided to get a Medium instead of my usual Large and they fit nicely. The quality is very good and the padding is nice.

and I’m an active antique so I’ve owned a few pairs. I like them more than the others because the leather actually does some conforming to make them very comfortable in the palm, under pressure or not. The cotton weave has stayed in placed and remained cleanly attached. I’ve ridden 1500 miles with my first pair and I have no intentions of putting them to rest for another year. I bought a enough extra pairs to make sure I have ‘em for years to come.
