This spiral tilt balance is constructed of a mill-finished metal tube measuring 9/16 inch in diameter. The FH series spiral balance features 2 available rod extensions; one measures 3/4 inch and the other 1-3/4 inch The colored nylon bushings of these spiral tilt balances indicate their spring and sash weight for which the balances were designed: white = standard; red = medium and blue or black = heavy. These spiral balances are used on vinyl single hung tilt windows.

The picture shows what I received when my order came. It does not fit my windows.The original product picture is the part I needed. Part numbers on the packages of actual part received were the same ??? I believe there are two different ends one is 3/4” and the other is 1-3/4”?

These were perfect for my needs. My old balancers were not working properly, causing my double-hung window to fall once unlocked. I should have done this years ago. Instead, I just avoided opening that window.Super easy install. Even without the torsion tool, I was able to get enough twists in to give these plenty of power to lift my heavy window easily with one hand. I only needed about 3 full turns on each, and I was able to do that with just a pair of needle-nose pliers. Any more than that, or if doing several windows, I highly suggest getting the tool.These were a perfect replacement, reasonably priced, and arrived very quickly. 5-stars.
