This is a pair of stainless steel 12 inch hinges used on casement or projecting windows. This type of hinge is used by a variety of window manufacturers of wood or vinyl casement windows. When selecting the correct hinge compare the length of the mounting bracket with the length of the bracket from the window hinge to be replaced. Also note whether there are 4 different bars; 3 actuating bars and 1 mounting bracket.

Some hinges had stopped working on our church windows. The new hinges solved the problem. You need to be careful and buy identical hinges so read and measure carefully.

The particular window that needed the new hinge had been inoperable for 6-7 years due to me allowing my window guy to take the bad hinge back to the shop to match. He died and the old hinge was unrecoverable.I’ve searched hi and low every spring to find a replacement. FINALLY, this year I struck gold. I was a bit perplexed at first trying to figure out how it works for both sides of the window, but it does. Just slide the arm left OR right. Duh! This one is a direct fit. A little stiff, requiring some lubricant and operating open and close a dozen times, but it works perfectly and I am happy to have the window working and an extra set since I ordered 2. Thanks.

Happy with my purchase. Quality is very good. Easy to retrofit to windows. Reordered another six to redo whole house. Note the brass looking component that slides in the track is metal not plastic like other ones offered. This is what failed on the originals, albeit at 36 years old. These will swing left or right. Pleased with purchase.

Our windows are over 30 years old. The original hinge had a small plastic slider that broke or wore out. These are all metal. It seems almost criminal that the original hinges had plastic parts.

12" hinge works great with my (somewhat old) casement window. It took me a while to figure out that the hinges are bi-directional: if you're stuck wondering why you have two bottom hinges, jut close the hinge and open it on the other side.

worked perfectly!! better have screws on hand as they give you two per hinge & you need a minimum of 6-8 per hinge
