Perfect replacement for Honda GCV160 engine- correct size, strong/good quality, and works well. It's hard to tell which rope to buy with all the choices and so many unhelpful and/or illiterate descriptions! FWIW, I'm nearly certain that the GCV-190 uses the same. Tip: After cutting, melt the cut ends with a lighter or match - this prevents fraying and makes it much easier to use.

I used these to extend a camping saw for greater reach. The saw became stuck in the branch. I tied a loop at the end the rope and then stood on the loop. I put my full weight on it and even did a bit of a bounce. The saw broke, the rope did not. I'm 200+ pounds plus the jump probably put about 250 pounds on the rope and it held tight.

I used it to replace the original cord on my Honda GCV-160 engine on a Troy-Bilt mower. The cord seems sturdy and a good match, except for being white instead of black. I watched a YouTube video on replacing it, which was good because they explained how pre-wind the starter spring enough to retract the new cord while ensuring that the spring does not reach end-of-travel when you pull the cord out to start the mower. It seems enough cord for at least a couple more installations.

This worked well on my Honda GX160 engine. Is long enough to give you 2 or 3 times what you need so if you have more than one small engine you'll have spare pull cord when the next one breaks. You know it will...just a matter of time. Quality seems to be there, I'm happy with this as a replacement for my 2 GX series Honda engines.

I ordered this during the shutdown when I didn't want to go out and wasn't sure our big box home repair stores would have anything in stock. Kudos to the manufacturer for marketing some 550 cord as "Starter Recoil Pull Cord". It works as intended, doesn't stretch, and should wear nicely, but I already had 550 cord lying around. Had I known that's what it was I wouldn't have bought it. Since I bought it, I used it. I was expecting a woven line like Dynema or similar. It is a bit thin and floppy for a pull cord, and tends to slide out of the "loop" that holds the pull handle near the handle of my mower. In fact, it slipped out while mowing the other day and I ran over the rubber pull, disintegrating it.Lowes offers a woven line with a rubber pull for about $5.99. I picked one up there the other day and will be replacing this for the second time this year.
