With the 1/25 scale PCF Mk I, Pro Boat honors the heroes who piloted Patrol Craft Fast (PCF) vessels on patrols during the Vietnam war. Veterans, their families, and history enthusiasts will all appreciate the depth and the accuracy of its detail. On the water, Pro Boat engineering delivers outstanding performance for all RC boat enthusiasts to admire! The real PCF boats — also known as Swift Boats — were all-aluminum, 50-foot craft developed by request of the U.S. Navy specifically to combat insurgent activities. Initially used to patrol coastal areas, PCF missions later expanded to interior waterways where they carried Vietnamese forces, blocked enemy arms and munitions, and transported SEAL teams for counter-insurgency operations. Though detailed enough to simply enjoy on display, the Pro Boat PCF Mk I is also equipped to execute daring missions at your local lake or pond. Two 390 brushed motors with aluminum heatsinks supply the muscle to move easily at scale speeds and maneuver with finesse. The included Spektrum SLT3 radio and 40-amp ESC/RX 2-in-1 provide dependable control of the on-board electronics — and let you operate the boat's LED lights right from the transmitter. In addition to the lights, there are plenty more faithful scale features on the molded ABS hull. These include a .50 caliber gun on the bow, M60 machine guns, and a .50mm gun on the transom, plus life rings, docking tires, light pods, antennas, rail chains, and a flag. Eager to take its accuracy to an even higher level? The PCF Mk I comes ready to upgrade for an optional rotating machine gun turret (SMPSX108 Micro servo and SPMA3008 Y-harness attached to the steering channel required). Out of the box, the Pro Boat PCF Mk I arrives expertly painted and finished with an accurate military trim scheme that enhances the boat's scale realism and its ready-to-run ease. Just add your choice of 3S LiPo battery and charger and you're ready for patrol!

This thing is amazing! I'm not sure if that other reviewer thought he was buying a real Swift Boat or something, but the one I received was made of quality plastic and plenty of wonderful details. Runs great, looks amazing, feels very solid. May not hold up to actual warfare, but for the price, this is an incredible value.

the boat work's great and it can handle some pretty big waves. The only thing I was upset about is the batteries and the charger have to be bought separately from the boat and the product description said nothing about that. also, the navigation lights on the bridge have a wireless connection to the battery which is pretty neat but when my boat got really wet, they stopped working which was kind of annoying, but it wasn't too big a loss since I only use the boat during the day anyway.

Looks like a toy - an all gray colored thin plastic deepchinafactory production. Costs $350.00 with tax.Proboat/Horizon Hobbies is on the way out with scale boats. Besides this boat, they now sell only a rescue tug and a military/police type airboat. I have the latter two.Everything else that looked real they've discontinued. Now they sell mostly small and large (inexpensive v. costly) two-man racers...a few look-a-like water intake impeller weed and leaf part-sucking boats as "scale." They look like teenage stuff, barely hobby grade in appearance, but the newest one is bigger and FATTER with a Hulk Hogan inspired figure behind the wheel, and basically square-shaped!. And it's *FIVE-HUNDRED DOLLARS.*After dropping the surprisingly stellar Vietnam War PBR, they introduced this inferior partner boat to it. What!? If that Patrol Boat River ("Alpha") didn't sell well enough against the juvenile one look speed boats that chinaplasticinc. spits out by the dozens, then why would a scale Patrol Craft Fast *this cheap-looking* sell better INSTEAD? Why discontinue the PBR and introduce a Swift boat??Don't get their version of the Vietnam War Swift boat while it's hot. It's not long for this world. Take a pass.$350.00 is alot of money. It's tiny...the detail will not be seen on a pond. It's ALL gray and 1/24 scale. This is exciting only because it can skitter-about quickly. The recessed battery *tray* is undersized. None of my standard softpack LIPO batteries will fit in it (softpacks are smaller than plastic case). They had to have done this on purpose to direct you to Horizon Hobbies' online store (Proboat's only seller) to sell you a sufficiently narrow and short "Smart" brand LIPO.So RTR scale boating is dead. So learn how to build kits if you aren't already. You have to use decor methods - paints, marine accessories, figures, etc., to effectively model the historic RTRs, so why throw good money after bad in hard-to-find accessory products for something like this 1/24 scale? It's 24" long by 7" wide. What figures can be found that are realistic soldiers to put on this except generic modern soldiers, unarticulated crudely formed injection molded, and entirely unpainted...and they run about $50 for a crew of three. I found that 2.2 inch figures fit this boat, which are 1/35th scale, not 1/24th that are three inches tall.Get a better paying job to support your RTR scale ship hobby because the only decent models, now that Aquacraft is gone, are the not at all! ready to run DIY kits.I won't bother looking to Proboat any more. They've discontinued two military patrol boats already. They are bailing on scale reproduction of real watercraft models.
