This LED Light Intensity Meter is a great tool for anyone needing a basic and affordable way to measure the light output of LEDs. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of more expensive meters, it gets the job done accurately enough for most hobbyist and DIY applications.Pros:Simple to use: The interface is straightforward and easy to understand, even for beginners.Affordable: A fraction of the cost of professional-grade light meters.Reasonably Accurate: Provides consistent readings that are accurate enough for comparing different LED configurations and optimizing light levels in small projects.Portable: Small and lightweight, making it easy to take on the go.Cons:Limited Features: Lacks advanced features like data logging or specific wavelength calibration.Build Quality: Feels somewhat plasticky and might not withstand heavy use.Accuracy Could Be Better: While good for comparing LEDs, absolute light intensity measurements may not be perfectly precise.Overall:If you need a simple, inexpensive, and portable way to measure LED light intensity for basic projects and comparisons, this meter is a solid choice. It's perfect for hobbyists, DIY enthusiasts, and anyone looking for an entry-level light meter without breaking the bank. Just don't expect professional-grade accuracy or features.

Probably rather overkill for a product of this nature and cost; I thought getting one to monitor home LED lightbulbs and lighting would be helpful. My reasoning is because these types of light sources seem to dim as they begin to fail and monitoring and getting an idea of their lumens emission will allow me to have a better idea as to how much life is likely left before they reach the stage of flickering or being far too dim for purpose, or completely fail. Granted lighting eventually fails from usage time and/or from the number of times they are turned on and off. PIR floodlights aren't something usually kept as spares and availability changes when a replacement is required. It will be quite useful to have more of a warning and an idea as to how much time is left before failure.Alternative uses are for photography, or making rooms or external environments at a particular level of brightness for intended tasks and/or to avoid unnecessary eye strain. Such as growing plants/fruit/vegetables, or for home cinema/TV watching/gaming in darkened rooms. Where too little or too much light may be problematic. A device such as this could be especially helpful for creating a suitable environment for people who are sensitive to light brightness and temperature levels.I do like the inclusion of a storage case. A battery has also been included to avoid the need for an additional purchase, and means the device can be used straight away. I don't like how there is a screw for the battery compartment and this screw is loose, because it could potentially get dropped and lost. It does mean a screwdriver is required to initially install, and to change the 9V battery. The build quality seems good. Each button is responsive and the display is quite clear, but without there being any illumination function. There could be an assumption that the light source being tested will provide enough to read display. A backlit display option, in my opinion, would be a useful feature to include. An instructions booklet is included. It has a good layout and the information is well written.I have not used any other light meters and I cannot therefore make a comparison of its functionality and performance. To me, it does seem a little weird having the display on the same side as the sensor and not on the rear for far more easier real-time monitoring. Although this could well be safety matter so not to face the actual light source. Especially if it is very bright. It just makes positioning the sensor a little trickier.

This arrives neatly packed with everything I need to get going, so the battery is included. This has one job, tell me how bright it is ( or not ).I thought I would use it more than I am, once I knew the light I am getting in a space I put it away and have not worried about it again, but if you need to keep checking light for something or in different spaces then this is actually pretty decent. The reading is quite quick and updates are also quick. It has one job and it does it well

This item was listed as an Anemometer, however, what arrived is a LED Intensity meter, which is not very good at measuring air flow. The item is fairly light and it doesn't feel as a high quality item. I tried to measure air flow with it, but that was unsuccessful. As my light sources are minimal, I am unable to test this for LED light intensity. I am also not aware as to how LED light intensity (measured in Lux) varies from other light source intensities and in the manual it says it can be used on any light source.I pointed this unit at various light source and it gave values that varied a lot and didn't make much sense to me. Then I read the manual and cycled through the manual ranges. Its not particularly logical, but it moves the decimal point around and uses a couple of smaller digits to indicate the value. There is no indication on the display of the scale being used, so no SI units, no engineering notation, etc. Similarly, the bar graph display just cycles up and down as it flips ranges, with no indication of why / what range its on. My concern is therefore that this will be prone to errors in read the result. I have never seen a similar method on other tool.To further complicate things, a number of the diagrams in the manual show multiple decimal points in the same number for different readings. So, I guess it works, but its not great.

As a semi-professional photographer who does a fair bit of stage work (gigs) under ever changing lighting conditions, this device makes life easy for setting a custom white balance setting so I can stream photos directly from the camera without needing much (if any) photoshop work. For gig work, most of the time I do NOT use flash and the temperatures I have been setting are virtually spot on.This has now become a permanent fixture in the camera bag.Highly recommended.

I didn’t really want this, I thought I was getting a wind meter and lo and behold I got a light meter. I have been using it to make sure my cherry trees are getting optimal light and compensating using my grow lights since my cherry tree is in my bathroom under a skylight and not fully outdoors.Overall a quite useful in particular circumstances.Until We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken

Just install the 9v battery and this meter is ready to read light intensity. It has all the features I need including range, max/min, and readings in Lux for Candles. It appears to be pretty accurate and it's durable. I have dropped it once or twice with no apparent ill effects. It's a good value.
