It may just be that being rechargeable means it has less power than it needs to do a good job. It doesn't take much pressure from a nail to stop it from rotating. The stones are not really abrasive enough either. If all you need is to knock the edge off nails that are clipped it does a great job. But if you need to trim nails back much at all I worry about heat buildup as I've seen wisps of smoke rise from the spinning wheel. Just my opinion but there needs to be a more abrasive grinding wheel for grinding the nails back to the desired length then a less abrasive wheel to knock the edges off so they aren't sharp. The last time I used it was a little too tedious so I grabbed my regular pet nail clippers to cut to length then used the rechargeable grinder to clean up the edges.

The Professional 4-Speed Dog Nail Grinder is compact and easy to maneuver. My 6 lb dog does not fuss when I use this product to file her nails. I like the fact that there are lights for different purposes, including a laser for playing chase. Being rechargeable is also a very big plus in my book.It takes considerable time to grind down a very long nail, even on my little one. Starting with a good nail trim from your groomer or vet, and then using this product to prevent future overgrowth by filing the nails briefly and frequently with this grinder, is likely the best use of this product. I think it works well for that purpose, is definitely less stressful for my dog, and the price of this product makes it a great value.

Five Stars – A Game-Changer for Pet Nail Care!This cat & dog nail grinder has completely changed the way I take care of my cats nails and I absolutely love it. From the moment I used it I could tell it was high quality and thoughtfully designed. The diamond roller drill is super effective at trimming nails smoothly and efficiently and the UV light is such a smart addition it lets me see exactly what I’m doing to avoid cutting too deep or causing discomfort. One of my favorite features is the 4 speed adjustment. It’s surprisingly quiet which helps keep my cats calm during the process.The interactive light at the bottom is genius. My cats actually seem more relaxed now when it’s time for a trim. It’s no longer a stressful battle it’s become a quick and easy routine they don’t dread. I also really appreciate the clear digital display. Knowing the exact battery level and speed setting makes it super user friendly. It charges quickly and lasts long enough to handle multiple grooming sessions with no issue. Lastly it comes with three different grinding mouths so whether you’ve got a cat a small pup, or a big dog this trimmer works for all of them. It feels like a professional grooming tool at a fraction of the price.For the value this is honestly unbeatable. I’ve spent more on trimmers that didn’t work half as well. If you care about your pet’s comfort and want a high performance all in one nail trimmer this is it. I couldn’t be happier!

Does the job. Easy to use and fast charging. I have two pups and they hate their nails trimmed so I have use this. Takes a while but it does a good job. Easy to use and quiet. If you keep in steady the pups wont mind it. I am able to get all 8 paws in and still have plenty of juice for about 3 more sessions. Months for me as their nails don't grow that fast. 4 different speeds and it tells you the % of where the battery is. Lights up for better visibility.

I was hoping the grinder motor on this would be quiet enough to not freak out my cats, whose claws get extremely sharp....but NOPE. They were NOT interested in even testing it!.Your cats may be different , of course.The variety of access ports I thought would make it easier to file just the tips down, but they weren't having any of that!Should be fine for larger animals, though.Seems well enough made and for sure will do the job well!
