I think the calibration of this tester is off a bit when you set your starting point to the suggested spot for the size diamond you are testing. I tested real diamonds, czs, and moissanite and while the light bar did go up for all but the czs, if you set the diamond and moissanite at the size the instructions suggest for the size diamond you are testing it does not register where it should, sometimes not even beeping to indicate diamond...you have to turn it up a little further. I tried a 1/2ct earring, set it where it should be set and it would only randomly hit high enough to beep. I also tried a 1 ct moissanite, set where you should set a 1 ct stone and it did the same. I then compared it with another diamond tester I had and that one did register higher and beep like it should. If you could be sure it was calibrated correctly it would be great. It seems to be built well and I like that it is rechargeable rather than using a 9v like others do.
