This arrived simply packaged, but encased in a foam box of sorts. It was a little loose inside, but seems to have arrived undamaged. It's a heavy piece of machinery, and doesn't seem cheap at all. You're going to need to mount this on something, and there are screw or bolt holes so that you can do that. The discs came already installed, and for curiosity, I looked for replacement discs, but didn't find any from this brand. It would be nice if there was an option on the product page to buy packs of replacement discs for simplicity. No instructions were included. Not a pamphlet or even a slip of paper of any kind, so you only have common sense and logic to figure out how to use this. The blade fixing brackets were loose in the box and need to be attached. No hardware was included for that. It says they're to "Hold the turret firmly" but I don't know what that means. I assume it's a problem with translation. The brackets are narrow, so you need to use care when sliding the blade from side to side.It seems to be a solid piece of machinery, but wish they had bothered to include some instructions even though you should be able to figure out its use. It isn't cheap though, so my opinion is that it should be included. Also, I'm wondering about disc replacement and where to get the discs. I'm sure they can be found, but it would make it a lost easier if they sold those too, or at least recommended a replacement.

This lawn mower blade sharpener is a big, beefy heavy-duty tool that is a real improvement over a hand-held grinder.I had been using a hand-held grinder with a flap wheel, as well as a bench grinder, and occasionally a hand file. This grinder fits in with all those methods. This grinder will grind nicely in a straight line. I didn't realize how far off several hand-held grinds had created a wavy edge. This thing straightened the waves right out! Maybe a few waves don't really matter, but I think this grinder is the best way to start. If your blade has complex curves, hand tools will be useful to get a proper edge on those curves after getting the straight parts sharp with this grinder.I took one star off because I had to straighten out the grinding wheel enclosure and align some holes with a tapered reamer and hand drill. I did that when I changed out the 43-degree tool rests for the 33-degree rests, which requires removing 6 screws on the enclosure. When doing so, the studs that are supposed to stay in place fell out and down, which is not a big deal since they can be installed just like a regular bolt (with two hands) after tipping the machine on its side. I took one star off for those reasons, but I want to be clear that in actual use this thing is very good. This tool exceeded my expectations after only a few minutes of use. It's really nice and fast. The ceramic grinding disks measure 9 inches in diameter, even though the label says 7 inches. The 9-inch replacement disks are readily available.Verdict:Recommended.
