We were able to fix our sectional recliner without paying someone to come in and do it for us.

This part saved my recliner - an Ikea leather swivel/rocker recliner - It was easy enough to replace once the chair was taken apart. You do have to take it apart first and remove the old one to measure the parts to be sure it matches. the measurement on the end opposite the handle is the most important as it allows for the "pull." Taking the chair apart also allows great opportunity to clean out the crevices (popcorn kernels, pens, hair ties, etc.)! The pull was pretty tough initially and I tried to do several adjustments to loosen it but it did no change. What worked was just using the chair - it has loosened up to be more usable. And just in time - well a week after fixing it I had knee replacement - I needed a working recliner!! :)

You sent me a cheap piece of junk that is broken and not like the picture. Can’t even use it. Would give it zero stars but won’t let me do that.

This is easy to install and works... but then it seems to always break 6-10 months after we buy it. Is frustrating. I really wish they made a stronger version of this!

Got my recliner back working again. Pretty easy install. Make sure to measure your existing one carefully, as there are a ton of different lengths available on Amazon. As others have said, the distance from the end to the anchor under the chair is critical.

I ordered (4) cables to replace original equipment cables. I could not be more pleased with this product. Ever since I purchased the couch and love seat, operating the recliners was very difficult. They had to be pulled very hard to operate. My wife had a hard time pulling hard enough and she is a strong woman. We were told that they would loosen up with time. They never did. Two of four failed when the D handles ripped. The last useful one failed when I pulled so hard the cable cut through the sheath. The replacement cables came very quickly, much quicker than stated. The cables were a couple inches longer than the originals but the exposed dimension (the one that counts) was the same. The replacement cables were clearly superior to the original cables. The metal cable was encased in plastic and traveled smoothly through the outer jacket. The original cable was NOT encased in plastic. This is why it ripped through the sheath. The replacement cable end points were fortified and provided better strain relief than the originals. Once installed, they pulled smoothly and were very easily to actuate. My wife could easily operate them with one hand. They were MUCH BETTER than original. These are the cables that should have been used originally.Remove your existing cable and measure the exposed length. Compare this to the picture in the description. Order a cable matches the exposed length. The overall length should be at least as long or a little longer. On my recliners there are (3) positions where the “S” hook may be attached. The original cables were attached to the middle position. I attached the replacement cables to the position that was furthest from the actuator arm swivel point. This makes for the least level of effort but a slightly longer pull. You will not be disappointed with these cables.

Work greatbut wish the cable was a little thicker so wouldn't have to replace every 18-24 months. Thats why 4 star instead of 5.
