We wanted this lighting stem to replace the chain that the light originally hung from. This product did the trick, but cost basically as much as the light. Also, for how much it cost it wasn't the highest quality. It arrived with some minor chips and cracks on the paint (which was easy enough to touch up with oil rubbed bronze paint) and it also didn't hand straight if you tightened the sections together. In order for it to not look crooked we didn't completely tighten down each section of stem so that it hung straight.
