This light is beautiful. I was looking at another one for 4 times the price, in the end I decided to go with the much less expensive one. I am so glad I did. This light is heavy weight and looks much more expensive. I haven't hung it yet, so can't speak to longevity. I just hope it doesn't rust since it is going in the bathroom where kids take showers. But, for this price I could literally buy a new one every few years and still be ahead.

The vanity light was at a good price. It is held in place to the light junction box so you want to ensure that your light box is securely installed to support this fixture. My junction box was not secure as the builders did not attach the junction box to anything and was held in place by the wires. I did not know about that as the light fixture this one replaced was a Hollywood type vanity light fixture that was 48 inches wide that attached to the drywall separately.The light fixture is not overly heavy and the glass shades are thin which helps keep the fixture light. I am happy with this light fixture that is able to replace the old one and give a more modern look.

After reading the bad reviews about hardware not meeting the standard electrical boxes, I took a chance and ordered the unit and planned ahead to have extra steel straps ready for the issue others have spoken of. However, I had no issue installing this unit at all. Either the negative reviews come from non-handy installers (I mean no disrespect as I commend the effort!) or the unit has since been corrected with the proper installation hardware. The crossbar brace used for 4" octagon boxes and standard single gang junction boxes fits perfectly. It's got the standard slotted groove for the screws to line up. The crossbar is also mated with a rotational mounting bar that can be rotated in case you're dealing with a single gang junction box in a vertical orientation. The only thing I did have to do was trim down the two threaded bolts about 3/8" shorter as the junction box in my house was placed at the surface of the sheetrock and caused the screws to protrude too far through the cover plate. That's not good since the nuts are decorative endcaps with only 1/4" of tightening depth. It was easy to adapt as I just hacksawed the screws shorter and it's good to go. That's not the fault of the unit. It's the fault of the previous genius who didn't install the junction box recessed properly. All in all, the installation was a breeze. The lighting is perfect! Cheap, bright, and classy. What else can I say? If you're not handy, don't attempt to install this, or any light for that matter. If you are handy, this thing is a breeze to install. A good value.

We bought two of these for above our vanity, and they look very clean and modern. We turned them so they face down for more light. No problem with installation.
