Bought this for use at a county park with a poor electrical layout. The electrical box framing pushed out against my 50amp plug and caused an unsecured fit/gap. This extension was exactly what I needed to get a snug fit between my plug and the outlet. Fast shipping and packed nicely in a box.

The three verticle pins are okay, but the top pin is completely round. All my generator 50 amp receptacles have an opening for a half round pin. I checked some stores. ALL the generators have 50 amp half round openings. Had to tap in with rubber mallet. Hope it works.

Don’t have worry about this plug coming loose, takes a rubber hammer to force fit to rv pedestal, and same for rv plug to plug extender.

Like some others with similar Chinese made generators, my DuroMax generator’s 50A outlet is too close to a wheel, putting undue stress on the neck of my 50A plug - a poor design by the generator manufacturer. My manufacturer actually suggested this product when I brought this to their attention. Unfortunately for me, it didn’t work. My 15kw generator has a V-twin engine that produces more vibration than some smaller generator’s. This adapter can’t handle the vibration. It worked loose and fell out within minutes. If this adapter was encased in rubber instead of plastic, it might be able to absorb the vibration, but then again, it wasn’t really designed for generator use, so you can’t fault the manufacturer. If you have a generator with a v-twin engine, this adapter probably won’t work for you.

As advertised this adapter works perfectly when the RV Park Electric Pedestal has a protruding lip the does not allow a 50A surge protector to hang vertically. The adapter spaces the surge protector male plug away from the RV power pedestal receptical about 1” clearing the protruding lip on some RV pedestals. Small device does not take up much space in RV. One of those items you don’t need often but when you do it’s a lifesaver when your 50A plug cannot be fully inserted into a recessed receptacle.

This a great add on to my PI Surge Protector. Not only does it allow the unit to hang vertically on the pedestal but it also protects the male plug on the surge protector from over heating due to a worn out pedestal receptacle. Much easier to replace this extension when it suffers heat damage than to replace the 50 amp male plug on the the surge protector.
