Springs stiffened up my 2016 Scouts mushy front-end. Springs and 20wt. Bell Ray fork oil did the trick!

For $100 the Scout should have come like this from the factory. Easy install and great results. I'd say about half the bumps on your daily commute are solved with this single upgrade. It no longer dives at stop signs even with a passenger, making for a much safer and controllable machine. Also took Progressive's advice and used their 20W fork oil - used less than 1qt to do both forks to their 140mm air gap spec.

Installation was easy. Well, easy-ish, but that is on me for using a Harbor freight atv jack and an assortment of cheap hand tools. Instructions were clear and easy to understand, and if one desires there are many videos online that show how to swap out fork springs step by step. I also used Progressive's brand of 20W fork oil, one quart was plenty for my bike (2015 Indian Scout). The improvement when I took the Scout out for a test ride after I was done was immediately apparent. I thought the Scout was a nimble bike before, but now I would swear it almost pivots. I grabbed a handful of brake and the bike didn't dive like a French soccer player anymore, nor did it bottom out the front suspension. I purposely drove over some of the gnarliest potholes I could find (not hard, it is Spring in the upper Midwest) and I honestly couldn't feel it. The handlebars barely twitched! All in all, they are worth every penny and I would highly recommend them!

2017 victory octane motorcycle fits perfect and i used a 2inch spacer not 1 ¹/² like suggested my octane sits to low and would reach the red zone of 10% before it bottoms out so I used a 2 inch spacer instead and seems to work well stock spacer is 4 inch and the stock springs were very soft. these springs are for a india scout but has the same suspention on the octane, it will fit perfect but of course trust what ever you like my bike doesn't bottom out and feels great I also added I believe 15w fork oil to specified amount one bottle will clean both forks and replace the oil and after I finished I still had around 1/4 of the bottle left and yes you can do this job with out special tools just have the correct tools to remove all the bolts no special suspention tool is what I ment.

Headline says it all. Stock springs on the Indian Scout and Victory Octane are too soft and under heavy braking the front end dives like an Olympic swimmer. Installing these with 10-weight fork oil improved the handling and ride quality by leaps and bounds. Cornering, rough highways, all of it. This should be one of the first upgrades you make on your Victory Octane or Indian Scout.

Indian scout 2016 stock fork springs are horrible. These progressive springs made the bike waaaaaay better. It’s like a new bike no more pogo stick front end and holding a line in a curve is butter. Little bumps and road irregularities are no longer an issue as far as bottoming out the forks go. If you have the crap stock springs and your looking at these then don’t hesitate buy them and enjoy your better riding Indian scout
