My Optoma HD20 Projector, which I had installed in 2010, started giving me a warning that the lamp was nearing the end of its life. To replace the lamp, I ordered this Osram lamp. It took me about a half hour to replace the lamp, after watching a couple of videos on Youtube. After I replaced the lamp, the picture from the Projector looks so much brighter! It feels like a brand new projector. I had to go into the Projector menu, and manually reset the Lamp hour counter, to inform the projector that it had a new lamp.

Lasted one year and 880 hours which is about 20% of what the original bulb lasted. Was problem free about six months and during past six month stared to get worse little by little. Once in a while had to turn projector on many times before bulb would turn on or after turning projector on it would turn off by itself and then back on after about three minutes. Now projector stays on about five minutes then shuts down and will turn on only, for another five minutes, after being idle about 15 minutes. Projector also makes clicking noise after going off as it tries to turn bulb back on. This all sounds like overheating issue but fan is working fine so I assume it's the bulb. Bulb is still very bright so this is not something that it would be coming to the end of its usable life but must be some other issue.

This lamp worked well for about 6 months and then blew up like all of the other replacement bulbs I have tried. I have bought several cheap lamps to operate in my Optoma HD 20 and so far this one has worked well. I bought three cheap complete assemblies for around $30 and they all broke after a couple months (after years of service from the OEM lamp). So I decided to buy this one and have had to disassemble the housing to insert the lamp (this is a pretty easy process you can search for videos of this). The image quality is same as OEM for me, but the lamp did not last long. The original lamp with the projector lasted years, this one only lasted a few months, no different than the cheaper $30 ones.

We originally purchased the generic replacement bulbs for our Optoma HD20 and had nothing but problems. 1 bulb was significantly darker and then the replacement that was sent had correct brightness but the light bled out of the projector (this continued after re-installing twice but realizing it was the housing of the generic bulb) and had a purple hue to the bottom of the image. Now to this bulb. It is just the bulb only, so its a tad bit more work but incredibly easy to do. Switch out the bulb with the existing housing and your good to go. The display now has its same clarity, brightness and contrast as the original. Well worth the price that was paid and had wished I purchased this first. There is somethings you want and can save a few bucks on, but take it from me, this is not one of them. Buy this one first and be done. Good luck

Bought this from Exclusivebulbs on Amazon in August of 16, installed it in a Smart 60wi projector lamp housing in mid December of 16. It gets used five days a week for several hours and so far it is working perfectly and is still very bright. I'll post another review if it goes early but so far so good.

It is different from the original. Its a lot brighter and less colors???? It stated genuine replacement lamp, so I thought it would be OEM replacement. It has all the correct numbers on it that matched my old one. But something is diff. it doesn't throw the brilliance in all the colors... I still like the price! Came a week late!

Purchased from vendor EPHAROS to replace a blown lamp in an old Vivitek 1080 projector. Arrived well-packaged (see below) and made the projector look like new - I was STUNNED at the difference in brightness and picture quality and am amazed I managed to scrape along as long as I did. If this is your lamp and your projector can't easily be seen in a room with minimal sunlight but a few 60W lights on, you'll be happy to replace it before it blows. In terms of effort required to make the swap, here's the short version: disassembly was somewhat painful, installation was a walk in the park. I'd budget 10-30 minutes for your first time and 5-15 minutes for a repeat attempt; certainly easy enough to warrant buying this over a full assembly at 2-3 times the cost! (Install details below.)Packaging feedback: (Vendor = EPHAROS)Packaged fairly well with minor room for improvement. Arrived in a standard Amazon cardboard box containing an interior box with the lamp wrapped in a polystyrene bag (think micro-sized bubble wrap on the thin side but tears easily) and two foam egg cartons that were strong but extremely soft. My only complaint was that the polystyrene bag was soft enough that the lamp's metal filament extends beyond the "flush" face of the lamp and can poke a hole in the material; I suspect the item could easily be damaged if set down forcefully and/or at just the right angle. Zero concern about damage in transit as the foam cartons provide more than adequate protection, but be VERY gentle when removing it from the box (using one of the two foam cartons as a base works nicely).Installation:All the videos I saw online described twist-type power connectors, this lamp's are slotted with the male end on the bulb and the female on the lamp assembly. My initial assumption was that they simply slid off, but I applied a fair bit of force and stopped for fear of breaking the female side on the housing assembly. After eyeballing it a little more I resigned myself to pulling harder with mixed success: one came off, the other didn't and began to bend. At this point I wised up and used a flathead screwdriver to apply pressure specifically on the old lamp's prong, it came off easily (line it up with the slot and gently tap the male portion while holding the female section firm). Putting them back on was a walk in the park. All-in there were 3 screws that needed to be removed to pull the housing assembly, two screws and a small metal bracket that had to be removed to pull the old lamp out, and two more that had to be loosened to allow another bracket some wiggle-room. 7 screws and one small metal bracket make for a pretty easy change-over. Be sure to wear gloves (nitrile or otherwise) and ensure you don't touch the lamp - oil is the death of these things. If you happen to touch it with your hands, clean it off afterward with Q-tips and high-proof alcohol (90%+).Hope this helps - if it did, please pay it forward and review products you've purchased - INCLUDING THE VENDOR :) Cheers.
