Works great. I didn't want to install rivets on my expensive cymbals. This does the job.

If you want that sound that Ginger Baker in Cream had with the rivets in his ride this is a great product to get close to that sound. I've used this sizzler on my ride for a few years and keep it on. Great alternative if you don't want to spend the money on a ride with rivets.

it's a great sizzler. my only complaint is that it's a weird shape and very thick. I had to cut it in have to get my wing nut on. if you dont mind some elbow grease, or have long screws works beautifully.

I mainly use it on my cymbals. It mimics the sound of having rivets on the cymbals but it's more subtle. Perfect for jazz, brush playing or dynamic stuff. Highly recommended!

I really like the idea. I am currently using a 21" Istanbul Agop Sultan ride. A wonderful cymbal that I wanted a touch more sustain out of. This does that - but not to the natural tone of the cymbal. It adds a sizzle, and does a great job of it - but it mutes the natural overtones of the cymbal in exchange for that simulated sizzle sound. A nice product, but not for this particular plate - I will try rivets. That being said - a harmless $10 spent and glad I have it to try on other cymbals.

I, like many other parents, had been blindly researching drum sets for my fledgling drummer son. Per a suggestion from one of the reviewers, I purchased this to use with the Sabian 20-Inch Ride Cymbal. Which...is a fantastic buy....FYI.I figured for $10...what the heck! This was easy to attach and it really does give the cymbal more of a "shimmering" sound. Here is the entire set-up that I ended up getting our 13 yr old son:

Since I couldn't find any bathtub stopper chain, like I used on my very first drum set cymbal, I found this on the internet and it works just like the one I made.......GREAT! This was along the timeline when the "Sizzler" cymbal came out (which I could not afford and I didn't want to drill holes in my cymbal in case it didn't work out), so, as an alternative I laid a piece of heavy beaded chain from a bathtub stopper over the cymbal and it simply continued to 'sizzle' like bacon. I guess I should have patented it then!Bottom line, this works very well, indeed. I did have to cut two beads off to make it come out even with the edge of my cymbal...no big deal.
