I was initially impressed with this torch head for several reasons. It produces an above-average flame that reaches high temperatures, works effectively in inverted positions, and features an inner port design without tiny passageways, making it more reliable and easier to clean. At first, it seemed to live up to its description regarding reliability and consistent first-try ignition. However, after a few days of use, it started becoming more difficult to ignite, which is a noticeable drawback but not a complete deal breaker. The most significant issue is the lack of an adjustment knob for controlling the flame, as it operates at full pressure with no way to regulate intensity.

A very nice MAAP/ Propane torch with a auto ignitor.Very solid construction, but the trigger lock is very finicky requiring jiggling and fussing about to get it to securely lock, or disengage.They need to address that issue, as it is annoying, and might be constituted a safety hazard

Perfect. Does what I need it to, and easily. Out the box and heating metal within minutes. Materials and construction quality are where they need to be to give me confidence. The price is right and I recommend this, I like it and I am pretty sure you will also.

For some reason there is no valve to control the flame size. It's either just on or off. The torch works well but there are some times when a lower flame is needed. I do like that both propane and map gas can be used for higher heat is needed.
