It's a good replacement part. It's not an exact match in length and width as the original. The original support bracket can still accommodate the element. It's far less expensive than what the local appliance repair shop was charging. Installation was simple. However, I wish hex screws were included instead of Phillips because it could boast easy "one-tool" installation. Fortunately, I had a set of new 1/4" hex screws because the originals suffered a good deal of heat corrosion.

This element is slightly different from the original GE part,as a consequent, it doesn't fit into the support bar for the broiling element in my GE oven.. though it can be used.

The broiler element was an exact fit when it came to replacing the defective element which was the original to the GE range (Model JBP26GS1). The range/oven was built and put in use in 1994. Its been a reliable model that we use everyday. However, over the years a few parts did wear out and needed replaced. A couple of years back the bake element went bad and had to be replaced. The replacement element was a close match but I had to drill an additional hole in the rear of the oven because the bake element mounting bracket's pre-drilled holes did not align with the mounting holes in the rear of the oven. Also, connecting the electrical leads were somewhat of a pain.This broil element recently replaced was not an issue. I was able to install it in the oven ceiling and the rear mounting bracket holes aligned with the mounting holes in the rear of the oven. The electrical connection was very easy and accessible upon removing the back cover plate of the range . The new broil element works as advertised and I am very satisfied with this replacement element. I hope its durability will provide years of additional service.

Quick ship. Looks to be good quality. No new holes needed for WB44X173. Put screws in element terminals outside oven for first time to cut threads. Use vise grip to hold terminal. Original lasted over 30 years so after working one month still in infant mortality period.
