was skeptical but you get 7 different grits for the price of one sharpening stone. you do need to pair this with a hard surface, i used a small glass pane i had leftover, it worked just fine. the tactile sensation is pretty close to using a stone, i would recommend putting something like poster putty under the glass to hold it in place and to add a bit of give to the surface.the product absolutely works. can't comment on the longevity yet but there is literally no discernible wear after sharpening 2 knives. both knives came out RAZOR sharp and i spent less than 2min on each pad.once i saw it worked on kitchen knives, i took it out back to my garage. had an old neiko chisel that was pretty wrecked. i went HARD on the sheets and completely rehabbed the chisel.if you're a fan of scary sharp, these are easily comparable to the 3M sheets but VASTLY cheaper. highly recommend this for anyone looking at trying or replacing the 3M sheets.
